Character Build: Agents of Skyrim

I was thinking of making it an Alik'r agent but they despise Nudri-hi (Conjuration and Illusion) and are primarily swordsmen or sometimes mages, but never assassins, so they didn't fit. So I decided on Tu'whacca, who is typically never thought of, so I thought a morally decent cult of him might be cool, uses "evil magic" while adhering to the Redguard pantheon. One thing that might be cool is to capture black souls but never use them for enchanting. Maybe drop them off in the Dragon Priest shrine (in the time warp). I'm still a little busy, so I'll try to add more while I'm in study hall.

These are mostly Agents of Factions.  Where one group of people are associated with a certain D/Aedra, it may, or may not deserve a mention, but these are not Priests.  For the most part, they work for the Organization, and not for their Patron.  This also serves to differentiate this from the Paths of the Paladin.

Likewise, some Factions may be associated with a given Race, others not.  For example, the Empire takes everbody, though there is an Imperial Race.  Didn't you just say something about Not limiting options?  (Or outright accuse me of it.)

Yeah, I was thinking about the various Houses, and pondering the various motives they would have for infiltrating Skyrim.  Might require Dragonborn, for the Faction specific equipment like the Morag Tong Armor, Telvanni Robes...

Agents are Not Assassins.  They're Spies, though the may have reason, or even orders to kill, tit's not their raison d'etre.  They're also Saboteurs, but their primary purpose is Infromation/Misinformation.  Like the Goldenglow mission (And most of the Theives Guild, which is why I mentioned them first) you're there to get the documants, not kill everyone on the islands.

Write it up.  If there's a Cult of Tu'whacca (What is he, a wookie?) then that would explain who's doing the training, and ordering.  The Gods may act this way, through Agents, but it's not their typical MO.  Factions do, however.

And yeah, I'd drop the Atronachs, and Necromancy from them unless they're specifically "Bad Radga."

What skills are those?  I'm not sure what you're talking about.  Paladins are Good Guys, so naturally they'd avoid the Dark Arts.  Agents are at best Neutral, they may have the best intentions, For Their Faction, but are basically obligated to whatever they must to complete the mission.

I want to make this very clear.  This Is Not The Paths of the Paladins.

I think you're missing the point. Nobody's telling you to make Paladins or even copy Ponty's Paths of the Paladin. There's a suggestion on the table to emulate that style but put the Agent spin on it. In the Paladin Paths writeup, there's one "base" build which each variant tweaks a little -- drop Block for Restoration on one variant, for example.

I think the suggestion would be to make a baseline of Agent skills and show how they play out as a "regular" Agent, and then have a series of smaller writeups on the different kinds of Agents you've come up with and show how they modify the baseline playstyle and skills accordingly.

But that's exactly what I was trying to do.  If I've failed somehow, pray tell me in what way so I can change it.  Read it again first, though.

There isn't an actual Cult of Tu'whacca, that's just something I thought up. I can find an interest faction, I'll think up an agent.

Of course not, but it would be a great excercise in Worldbuilding.  However, it might be too much for a small variant in a thread full of them.  I'm trying not to Sensory Overload this thread, but if you go to the trouble, perhaps it would make a good basis for it's own Build, or Role play section.  Write it up, and I'll at least link to it with a brief Synopsis.

Of course, they'd be a Secret Society, which would explain why nobody in Skyrim has ever heard of them.  Who would you use as a Handler, Saadia?  It would explain why the Alik'r are looking for her...

Well, I had to replace a Dryer Belt, but there's your Morrowind variants.  Also, I would like to formally request anyone with a more in-depth experience in the Dawnguard DLC to submit versions both for the eponymous Faction, and House Volkihar.  I tried it, but honestly, the storyline, and continuity errors (Like Serana just walking into Fort Dawnguard, twice, once after showing the Sunlight test to make sure you weren't infected) were just too much for me...
