I never understood why we had to title them "Event Build: (insert names)". They are all character builds anyway.
The whole "event builds" somehow being categorized as something different literally makes zero sense.

That could actually play into this well. Maybe have event builds highlighted for say a month or two, and then change the titles to regular character builds and add the rankings. I'm kind of with Teccam about doing it only in the future. I'd really like to see all event builds get ranked, but he's right about the difference in consideration when Liking event builds, and not everyone can or will go back to review whether every build they liked really deserved it. That being said, I still think keeping around the event banners/discussions with the links is a good idea, as it showcases to newcomers some of things we do and come up with as a community.

Event Builds may be valid for Hall of Fame nominations, but through the polls, it's ultimately you guys, everyone, that decide if a build is good or not to enter the hall. It's your responsability to review a build before voting for it.

So what? The events are just specific themes for people to make ... builds.
The posts are still builds, categorizing them as something different just seems like a tiring waste of energy.

As I said in response to Ben: I have no problems with making some changes to try to help event builds out for future events, as long as these changes don't cause negative consequences for the prospects of existing non-event builds.
Retroactively ranking event builds WILL harm existing non-event builds. I have a problem with this. If you guys want to re-scale or whatever, please only make it effective starting with the next CB event, and please do it in such a way that makes it fair for ALL builds. I'd say something like Ben suggested would work fine:
This would help give new event builds a bit more exposure, but it wouldn't harm existing builds in the middle ranks, or give event builds too much of an unfair advantage in getting views, likes, and accolades.
And again, whether you stick with your current plan or revise it based on my/others' responses, please also discuss your planned changes with Mason before you implement them. As I've said a couple times now, this project is his baby and he put a lot of thought into how it's structured. He deserves some input on any potential changes you want to make, IMO.
