in the topic TES 25th Anniversary Discussion - Favorite Questline in the forum Elder Scrolls
Jeez, theres way too many good ones to choose from! Im gonna try to go game by game I guess (SPOILERS BEWARE) Morrowind... I did really enjoy the quest where you have to hunt down the murderer in Vivec, I played through as a justice oriented Nerevarine and it just felt like I was doing good stuff. I liked that you really had to search for things in Morrowind, I wish they kept that for the later games, it made quests where you had to find things seem so much more rewarding and involving. I also like the Fighters Guild line, where you had to root out some corruption. I kind of caught on to some of the wonk, and I felt so good when I had finished things out. Finally, the Twin Lamps questline I did on my first character, an escaped Argonian slave, that was awesome that I got to get revenge. The experience of how well it fit with my character makes it one that I always really remember. Morrowind is so good hehe. Now Oblivion, I played Oblivion less. I liked the quest for the house in Anvil, partially because I really like the Anvil house. My favorite quest in Oblivion probably has to be the quest in Skingrad with Glarthir, that crazy little Wood Elf. Oh, and Whodunit? with the house party is a really neat quest. I like when I can be creative. Skyrim I've played the most, and the Thieves Guild has got to be my favorite questline overall. It's one of the longer ones, which is nice. I just play a lot of thieves, so I end up joining a lot and getting attached to the members. As said mentioned by almost everyone, Wolf Queen Awakens is incredible. I was really impressed the first time I completed it. I also really get invested in the Forsworn Incedent. I feel so bad for Eltrys and his wife. A touching quest. ESO has so many good quests, I'll try not to ramble too much lol (DEFINITELY SPOILERS HERE LOL). First, the Pact starter zone quests (Bleakrock and Bal Foyen) absolutely crushed me. First quests I did in the beta, and right away I had so much guilt for letting half of them die. Then I'd say my favorite zones were Deshaan and the plague quest, it felt really important and I kinda felt for the baddies. Then Alik'r for all of the Redguard lore and how beautiful everything there is. Also, the Thieves Guild DLC and Wrothgar DLC are phenomenal. Thier quest writing was definitely a step above the others, I remember them fondly. Edit: Oh and Rivenspire! And that's my favorites! Maybe a bit long, but what can I say, I love TES quests!

in the topic TES 25th Anniversary POLL: Which ES games have you played? in the forum Elder Scrolls
My first game was actually Arena! I didn't really play video games, pretty much all I played was Zoo Tycoon. Then around a year after Skyrim came out,my friend showed it to me and thought it was the coolest thing, so I made a steam account to buy it. I was only like 13 or something at the time so I had to wait for my mom to get it for me (we never had a lot of money) and while I was waiting I got DOSBOX and played through Arena, and I loved it! Since then I've played through Skyrim a million times, and more recently Morrowind and Oblivion. I also play a lot of ESO, been pretty regular player since beta. Only one I haven't played through so far is Daggerfall, but I have it downloaded on my computer and it's on the list! The Elder Scrolls will probably always be my favorite series as my introduction to fantasy and gaming in general. Much love on this big occasion!

I've been playing quite a bit of TES:Legends recently and was actually thinking the same thing. Was a little surprised that it goes mostly unrepresented here. I love all the extra Elder Scrolls art we get from it, especially in the latest expansion, it's gorgeous.

I definitely agree that it would be cool for the steath system to be fleshed out more. Something along the lines of what the Ordinator perks and Sneak Tools mods do. Adding traps, alternative actions for stealthy characters (e.g. knocking someone unconsious if you sneak up behind them). Sneaking is kind of boring if played normally for me. I don't feel like I gain anything going up the sneak tree. I also think that non-lethal attacks would not be a bad idea. They provide opportunities for a whole new set of playstyles, and I don't see a problem with some quests having better rewards with harder requirements. If you need to know the skill to get a bonus reward, then that's fine and makes sense. Bonus stuff is bonus, it should feel earned and semi-exclusive, in my opinion. Morrowind and Oblivion both had non-lethal damage in the form of hand-to-hand which was very cool. They also had exclusivity (especially morrowind), which many TES players enjoyed. I also wish for magic to be expanded, particularly with spellmaking. It was so fun and creative and made magic incredibly diverse. I understand they try to streamline things, but just have both. Have spell tomes with basic pre-made spells for people that like the simplicity, and then have spellmaking for people that want to take it to the next level. It seems like a no-brainer to me. Other things I'd like that I still don't think will be added: Expanded weapons - things like spears, halberds, new regional weapons like the katanas and japanese inspired weapons of morrowind. Think Heavy Armory if you've used that mod. Basically, more types of weapons. This I think is the most likely thing to be added. More impact - It would be nice to have quests with decisions and impacts. Choices are always amazing in games. From simple choices like being able to accept or deny quests again instead of having your journal be sneak attacked all the time to things like quest outcome decisions that are reflected in the game. Consequences are cool and make your character feel meaningful. Maybe even have quests that have more requirements, factions where you don't fly through the ranks and become the leader all the time, make me know how to cast a spell to go through the tomb of a powerful mage or something. I just want to feel like my character has actually accomplished something.

in the topic Which Schools of Magic Should You Study? Quiz! in the forum Elder Scrolls
Another mystic reporting in. I was sort of expecting Alteration as it is my favorite school of magic, but my fascination with the unknown and curiosity makes sense for Mysticism. It seems very cool with the concept of manipulating and controlling magicka, and could easily be the most powerful with deep understanding. Now I'll have to play a Mysticism character in Morrowind or Oblivion (probably Morrowind) as I've never fully dived into it.
