I've got mixed feelings on the Civil War. On one hand, you're absolutely right, Borom, the questline is poorly written. I don't think that this is a Civil War problem, but a Skyrim problem. Every time the PC is given a choice between two opposing factions the result is always the same: either we get one complete questline with a secondary option to skip (Dark Brotherhood and Blades/Paarthurnax) or two questlines which are largely the same (Civil War and Dawnguard). Bethesda simply can't handle interfaction relations. Where the Civil War succeeds is atmosphere. The opening cinematic is incredibly well written. No ES has ever made me feel as helpless. My favorite line in the whole game: '
A Nord's last thoughts should be of home...'
