I don't think it's a bad idea in theory, but like any group I'd personally want to see some evidence of people actually being interested in the game (and making content/discussing it) before we created a group for it as opposed to blending it in with the current RPG Group. I'd say just make the group. You have nothing to lose.  

I've been there before with other hobbies. My advice is to not set a deadline for your break. The fact that you're doing so means managing the community is more work than fun for you which is never good. Take a month, two months, a year if you need to. If you dread ending your break to get back into it then maybe coming back is just not to be. At that point it may be best to move onto something else permanently.

Hate to be a bad news bear but I'm having a lot of trouble navigating this site via mobile. Load times can be quite long but most troublesome is the fact that images get cut off rather than conform to the dimensions of my mobile device.
