Looking to build a rogue-illusionist crossbreed with an acrobatic combat style. I want to be ducking, dodging, rolling, and going invisible, mid-combat; not one hitting everything with assassins blade.
    1h, sneak, light armor, illusion.
I wanted to throw in destruction, to try and incorporate some cool rune combos.
Crouch to disengage, roll out, drop rune in front of you, stand up to lure mobs. That kind of thing.
I could also mix low level destruction spells\w dual cast, but I don't want to take away from the 1h acro-rogue combat style.
Is it worth going destruction? If not, what else should I consider taking?
    Stuck on racial choice.
Image wise, I wanted a thief mage, traveling magician look. Was thinking some sort of combo with linwe's set, or just that. Any recommendations?
    Thanks for the help!!

2 builds you might consider checking out:  The Nightingale Swordsman and The Shadowdancer.  They both have a sort of rogue/illusionist vibe IIRC, and seeing how they're put together might give you ideas on how to take things in a new direction.

I'm not sure how useful runes would be, but ... hmm. Now that I think of it, Frenzy Rune would have some applicability.  I don't think I've seen anyone use that as an "in-the-middle-of-battle" thing, but it could work.  Frost Runes (and frost magic in general) could potentially be helpful as slower-downers and Stamina-drainers.

I've had trouble with Shadow Warrior myself, though, so I'm not sure about how easy it is to do the crouch/roll/drop maneuver you're describing.

As for apparel, the thief/linwe stuff is probably the way to go if you're looking for light armor.  I do like the look of some kind of mage robes and leather armor pieces everywhere else (gloves, boots, TG hood).

That's a BOSS playstyle... did something like it for one of my builds, and had a LOT of fun :D Illusion is a great school for that playstyle: the Quiet Casting perk will have enemies scratching their heads while you pile on the runes. Whirlwind Sprint will shoot you from one spot to another, and if you perk Stealth pretty heavily AND use Shadow Warrior, you'll be crazy difficult to track even without the Invisibility spell. If you run an infinite shouts glitch, you can use Whirlwind Sprint like your own teleportation spell. If you decide to go that route, though, I'd hobble yourself somehow to keep the game balanced (and definitely limit unlimited shouts to Whirlwind Sprint otherwise things get a bit TOO easy ;D) I'd love to know how this turns out.

The Shadowcaster might also fit what you're looking for if you dont mind heavy investment into conjuration.

So, I've got two build ideas dueling in my head.

    1. A sort of "Oversoul" of each of the protaganists or Dragonborns created by a mix of Shadow Magic, and Akatosh needing a champion who is truly up to snuff to face of against Alduin. This would use multiple playstyles in one, like a quick one handed swordsman, then a pyromancer with an axe, greatsword wielder with destruction magic, etc.

    2. A bit more of a simpler, role play based character. In this your character becomes obessed wih an NPC, or several, and stalks them, murdering anyone who gets close to them, etc.

Number one could be a pretty interesting lore based build. As for your second idea, I'm not sure if overly attached girlfriend makes a good build concept.

True, and true. It was just a silly idea inspired by Yandere Simulator.

Anyway, I might just go ahead with that. Not sure how feasible mixing Shadow Magic and Akatosh would be, but I'll go with it.

I'd say go for 1. Do you need help with the gameplay? :P

I think I've got it down, trying to emulate playstyles should be interesting.

Make it Cirno from Yandere Simulator and then you have a frost magic build I'd play.
