Character Build: The Revakriid

That's a very good idea, Yvara.  The main reason why I didn't want to do that is because I think that looping exploits are a bit less justifiable than some other exploits.  If you loop the Fortify Restoration effect, you can do anything to break the game.  This build used the Fortify Restoration effect, but it didn't loop that effect to produce uber gamebreaking buffs.  It seems like a rather tenuous line, but I feel like there is a difference.  I might mess around with that on my own, but I feel like the blog is more likely to view looping effects as abuse, than the exploits I used for this build.

That said, it would absolutely make for a more efficient build.  If you, or anyone reading this, doesn't mind looping exploits, by all means I think it would work very well.

Ok. That's the good thing about skyrim. Everybody can play it as he likes .

I used the exploit on one character and it was fun for a while but i enjoy to play without exploits much more too. Just thought it would fit for this character and you could actually RP it quite nice as long as you restrict it on the Amulet of Talos.

I actually tried this today on a new character.  At 15 Alchemy, with two items of Minor Magicka (12% Fortify Alchemy apiece), I couldn't get Fortify Restoration above 26%.  When I made a potion while wearing gear equipped after drinking the 26% potion (which was 15% rather than the base 12%), the next potion would actually be slightly weaker (22% compared to 26%), leading to the gear dropping down to 14% apiece.  Not sure if this is just because my Alchemy is too low, or if Bethesda put in safeguards to prevent this kind of abuse...  I might try it on a character with 50-60 Alchemy and better Fortify Alchemy gear, just to see if it works then.

I think i had gear with +20% Fortify Alchemy and it worked. My alchemy skill was actually really low when i started around 20 or so.

Interesting.  I'll level a bit more and try it out with better gear, then report back.  How recently did you do it successfully?

It was about two months ago. Can't say if it was before or after the most recent patch though :/ (PS3). I would test it myself but i've no time to do so at the moment.

Yes. 25 hidden armor rating per piece of armor.

Just gave this guy a huge makeover.  After Adrik's discovery of Yellow Mountain Flowers augmenting Fortify Restoration by 25%, this build completely changes.  No more need to grind, make extra sets of enchanted gear, or glitch to get two pieces of headgear at once.  Now, getting 100% Fortify Shouts is not only possible, it's downright easy.  I added an alchemy section with that potion, as well as three others that I liked to have on hand during my runs with this character.  I also added a quick explanation for how to hit 100% Fortify Shouts, since it wasn't clear before, and now there's a new, easier method to do it.  Put Adrik's name in the credits, because that discovery is the best thing ever for this build.  Also added some images, rewrote a lot of the stuff that was already here, changed a bunch of formatting, and overall just made it look better (in my opinion).

Still plan on making a proper perk spread image, and perhaps adding the armor and weapon inventory icons as well...  Though I fear the latter might oversaturate the build with images.  (I'd love some input on that, if anyone is willing to offer their opinion.)  Before I make the perk spread image, I want to maybe run one more character, to be sure it's the optimal selection, before I set it in stone.  That would also let me experiment some more with new shout combos, especially Dragonborn shouts, to hopefully come up with one or two more special moves.

Personally I really like using images for weapons, perks, etc. Looking at where your build has the perk spread link it (in my eyes) is a great place for an image, there are a few small graphics before, and after it, nothing too big to make it look overdone.

I am not sure what you mean by icons for the weapons and armor?

I mean the images that you see if you highlight an item in your inventory, e.g., this image for the Ebony Mail (though scaled down to ~100 pixels in size).  Basically what you did in the Equipment section of the Songbird, and what I did in the Equipment section of the Stormchaser.

I'm for sure going to make a perk spread image, but I want to do another play-through first, to be sure the perks are still ideal.  It's been months since I wrote the original build, and a huge DLC was released in that time, so I may want to reallocate a few perks.  I already got rid of the Limbsplitter perks, as well as Steel Smithing, and dropped it from a level 35 build to a level 30 build.  I have a feeling that re-running the character may make me decide to invest in a couple of perks that aren't currently listed, so that's why I'm holding off on making the perk image for now.

EDIT - Just added Health/Magicka/Stamina too.  I know some people care about that.  It's pretty flexible though, with this build.
