How well does this character handle dragons on the ground? Usually I make an archer that only brings stamina to 200 and then goes all health. My main concern would be the massive damage the higher level dragons can deal per blow when combined with lower health and armor.

Secondly, have you ever thought of using a Nord for this build? In previous archers similar to this I used the Nord's "Battle Cry" as a very effective oh S*** button. It saved my butt numerous times, especially when facing down a horde of Falmer. A large group of Falmer is easy to thin out when they are running away.

How useful is the Redguard's racial power? I have never used the slow time effect of steady hand to this extent so I do not know how it would all work out. I'm thinking about making a Strafer, but I am debating on going Nord or Redguard.

Nord would be an awesome choice for the reason you gave. I went Redguard as this build is first and foremost a build that is focused on STAMINA! The lovely, lovely disregarded stat. Being able to basically sprint for 60 seconds while ALSO being able to stop multiple times slowing down time aiming (takes stamina also) is awesome. It really is an "agility: maximum" button and makes the build what it is.

I would love to see a Nord version. I have thought about an archery + illusion as it would repel enemies allowing for volleys from behind. Battlecry would fit right in. Hmmmmm....

Hmmm.......so I guess it comes down to whether I want to be able to run away from enemies or make them run away from me. Both would be great in a bind. I also find that sprinting away doesn't always work the greatest, especially indoors.

With the amount of stamina this build has to begin with I would think it would be enough to use the slow time aiming feature more than enough.

On another note, Henson, do you use a mod to increase arrow speed? I'm just wondering if this build was played with default arrow speed (which is unrealistically slow) or use a mod like I do. The mod I use flattens the arc out too much as far as realism goes. If only I could have the vanilla game's arrow arc with the mod's flight speed.....

No mods, I am on Xbox360. Soon to be a PC player!

So yeah, I guess it does come down to that, but the point I tried to get across in the build is that even indoors you can in fact sprint away successfully. Using objects to block, jumping on tables/coffins, etc. I picked Redguard cause I am favorable to the race and it did play into the whole stamina theme as I said.

You are going to love playing on PC. Bethesda left a lot of crap unfixed when they stopped patching the game. They also left certain aspects rather off balance (such as magic damage being rather poor). The only issue I foresee is that with mods you will have to be more careful when making new builds as mods can skew how effective a character is.

Back on topic, I did some research on UESP and found that zooming with the bow consumes 10 stamina per second. This means that when this build reaches level 61 you would be able to hold zoom for 50 seconds before you account for any stamina boosting items or potions. Also, with the perk that makes armor weightless and the previously mentioned conditions a character could sprint for 71 seconds.

Also, a Nord is taller than a redguard by a significant amount and in this game your height affects run speed and jump height. A Nord would run faster and jump higher than a redguard.

After looking over all this I decided I'll go for a Nord. I'll still be able to sprint enough for my tastes and zoom for longer than I would need to in most fights. I would also rather have 30 seconds of my enemy running away from me and then having to run back to me rather than 60 seconds of 50% time slowdown.

This build could use some poison and potion recipes. One specific ingredient that I love is Juniper Berries. Juniper Berries can both boost health regen and archery damage. I find that combining these two effects into a 3 ingredient potion makes a great brew for when you need a boost but you can't use poison (undead, vampires, etc.)

Also, River Betty+Death Bell+an ingredient with the weakness to poison effect makes a poison that damages, slows, and makes the enemy weak to poison (good for a second poison dose on tough targets). If you can't get enough river betty you can make a 3 ingredient poison with deathbell, a damage health ingredient, and a slow ingredient.

Imp Stool is also a notable ingredient. It has a restore health effect, and also can cause immediate health damage, lingering health damage, and paralysis. Using Imp Stool to make a 3 ingredient poison that paralyzes the enemy while causing health damage over time can be quite nice.

Eh, I leave it to the player to make their own. Could I add poisons to the build? I could, but there are plenty of better alchemy guides on here that do far better justice.

How well does this build go against higher level mages, Ive been oneshot many times playing archers by master mages. The other day running a mid level 38 character with a greater ratio of health than this build I was killed in a couple of seconds. Also its not easy to dodge mage attacks. ?

Damn. Recently getting into the show 'Arrow', I've been thinking about making a Vigilante type character, and this is perfectly it. Great build man!

I love flexible builds like this!  Stripping down to the basics just means more opportunities for branching out in whatever way we like later.

I'd give this build +2 if I could for being a Hearthfire build, but it still at least gets the +1 for being awesome overall.
