in my opinion vampirism is very well fittin as telvanni mages are known to use dark magic and som of the oldest telvanni are liches or vampires

Your Ash Guardian discovery is really useful information Adrik, thank you for that. I like your layout, tactics and the build's overall feel. Plus, it's always nice to see staves getting some love! A definite thumbs up from me.

I should of had put that, Miraaks boots are probably the best mage boots in the game because they give you AR without interfering with mage armor and give a good 5% spell absorption.

Thanks Phil, I put a lot of love into this build trying to make it the best as possible. The ash guardian fits the theme perfectly as well.

I really love this use of absorb, this is a rather clever build.  The only possible suggestion I can think of is perhaps exploring the use of the Aetherial crown and the Apprentice stone (in addition to the Atronach).  To my knowledge this stone combo hasn't really been used here and could be perfect for this build, assuming you even need it though (Which you may not).  This combo makes you take double magic damage which you in turn absorb 100% of, basically this allows you to absorb 200% magicka from any spells that hit you.  At lower levels it sounds like the guardian completely fills your mana bar but perhaps at higher levels, if you find it doesn't fill it completely, this combo might be of use.  The reason I mention this is your circlet enchantments seem to be somewhat redundant in the endgame (magicka regen seems pointless) so perhaps it could be removed without hurting the build and replaced with the above stone combination.

This is one of the few builds that I genuinely like.  If I played this I'd probably have staff enchanting play a more prominant role but in general this seems like a great character and a great build.  So far you've posted two builds and I've found both of them extremely well thought out and original, keep up the great work!

Great point with the Apprentice Stone, James. This would also increase Blizzard damage. But I don't think it would increase the magicka you absorb since you absorb the base magicka it takes to cast the absorbed spell.

I posted about blizzard and apprentice on another build a while back, it's incredible.  I read in a few places this combo boosts the magicka absorbed, haven't tried it myself so if it doesn't actually work then forget what I posted.
