Im not sure how many of you are familiar with Avatar the Last Airbender, but for those that are... I am working on monk qyatso build and i am going to roleplay it pretty seriously. Im just not sure what combat skills he will use. Im going to be casting calm on most enemies but you have to kill in skyrim eventually... Any help is appreciated!

Would qyatso use fury spells/staves or summoned familiars? Maybe have a follower who does the killing?

I love ATLA! I think you should always try and avoid your enemies by sneaking. If you are detected use a calm spell. If that fails, run! Not away from them, but around them, towards your goal. You will probably refuse assassination quests and I think most of the "retrieve item quests" should be achievable this way.

Remember, the Air Nomads usually solved their problems by being quick or by finding clever solutions, instead of facing them head on. Altough you probably want to use robes, consider using light armor, since there are a lot of perks in that tree for an agile fighter (like an acrobat).

I think you should avoid perking any offensive skills. Instead, use Shouts when you're surrendered. Unrelenting Force and Cyclone are the closest think you will get to Air Bending, and are gret for crowd control. Whirlwind Sprint and Slow Time are also very usefull for someone who wants to dance around his foes, and remind the way Aang could run like the wind and was much quicker than anyone else. Also, the Greybeard's Way of the Voice is quite similar to Air Nomad philosophy and they are the closest think to monks in Skyrim. I believe you're Air Bender would be thrilled to learn from them.

I really don't think you should kill anyone, even if it means failing a quest, because part of the fun of roleplaying comes from the limitations you impose on yourself to stay in character. But if you really want an agressive skill, I suggest Destruction, since weapons are a no-no in my opinion.

Ps: I think it's Monk Gyatso (like the Dalai Lama).

Is it possible for non-crafting skill grinding to be immersive?

@mitch blatt it's certainly harder, and I think it depends on the skill. If you're a mage, you can train conjuration and alteration in the school and roleplay that it's you studying the craft (I don't remember how the system works, but I think for destruction you have to actually hit a character). It's easier to rationalize it with combat skills if you can mod your game, by using Training Dummies and Targets: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3504

I'm on vanilla, so I think I'll summon an Atronach for a training dummy for defensive and offensive skills, but the monotony might lessen immersion.

I just thought of doing an RP based on Jakben Imbel, or possibly a descendant of his.

Becoming a vampire?  No problem - I can do it through Dawnguard.

Finding a place to live?  Again, no problem - I can buy Proudspire (In TES: Oblivion, he lived in a large house in the Imperial City.)

However, is there a mod that creates the Boots of Springheel Jak?

This is the only thing I could find that is specifically the Boots of Springheel Jak. I haven't used it, and it's only for normal Skyrim, no SE version. I've seen mods that add acrobatics to the game, though again, I haven't used them, so can't speak for their quality.

Going on my Jakben Imbel build, I have questions about vampires:

First, does it matter if Jakben becomes a vampire via Harkon or getting exposed to a regular vampire's Drain Life spell? (What changes, based on the choice.)

Second, I planned to make Jakben Male Breton spellsword who wears light armor, who operates on stealth, illusion, and vampiric drain - is that the most reasonable vampire build?

Jake you 've probably started with your build but I 'll give a quick rundown on how I would go about it in my playthrough.

    1) Alternate start gives an option to start off as a vampire if you use mods. That being said I would make the main focus of my RP the thief side like aspiring to become a great master thief like my ancestor and put vampirism as a secondary option and actually get it after meeting Harkon. Mods like Legacy of the Dragonborn and its supported mods can make a thief playthrough very interesting if you can use them. Another interesting thing you could do again if you use mods is to seek a grander path compared to your ancestor and become not a petty vampire but a great Lich with the Undeath quest mod and one of the following two mods Immersive Lichdom or Classical Lichdom.

    2) Regarding the build a Breton or an Imperial sounds about right for this one.

Skills: Sneak, One-Handed, Light Armor, Speech, Alchemy. No magic from the get go. Conflict / killing / assassination would be the last resort. In general at this stage I would rely heavily on sneak and play mostly as a wimpy thief not some trained skilled assassin. After a while use an event to trigger the use and acquire the knowledge of magic like becoming a vampire or something else. After that the use of the skills below would be possible but again with some limitations I wouldn't go spamming muffle to get 100 illusion or something like that :D. (Also I would make it so the skills lvl up very slow with a mod).

Magic Skills: Illusion, Alteration (I have mods that add quite a few tricks for sneaky characters), optional - Conjuration (some good ol necromancy) if I were to go the Lich route.

Or if I wanted to use magic from the beginning of the playthrough I would go with some rp like he was thrown out or not accepted to a school of magic in the Imperial city and decided to become a master thief and do w/e the hell he wants and live the life.

Not sure if it helps, have fun with your build!
