Thanks Luck, I'm glad you like the build!
In answer to your first question, the two paths are not necessarily exclusive they just focus on two different schools (restoration and conjuration) since they introduce the "light spells" and the "ash spells". For example the Purifying Pyro would have a greater perk investment in Restoration so they could cast those spells more easily. At high enough levels one would be proficient in both paths.
As to your second question, most of the high level perks are just more cost reduction, though there are some quality perks that you'll want to take in the end game. I'm going to pull up my current Pyro character whose level 70ish and put together an "end game" perk spread.
I might also put together alternate perk spreads for the two paths as well since specialization in one or the other intrigues me. I didn't think of it at the time of this build but now I'm curious as to what that would look like.

Definitely going to be my next play-through! This build is awesome and great job Vargr! I'm either going to be a Dark Elf and go down the "Purifying Flame" side or an Argonian and make it look like a dragon and go down the "Consuming Fire" side.

Thanks Jacob, I'm always glad to hear that one of my builds has inspired a new playthrough. Ironically my playthrough's were the opposite (purifying flame argonian and consuming fire dark elf).

I love pure mage builds, especially RP heavy ones like this, so you get a like. Currently at lvl 21 in my play-through of this build, and having an absolute blast.
