I personally don't consider Meridia to be "good". Maybe "mostly benign". Yes, she isn't as evil as some other Daedric Princes, but she doesn't really do anything good either. Hating undead is personal, not inherently righteous or good. And then evidence comes in the Oblivion "Knights of the Nine" DLC. She sends Umaril and the Aurorans to cause chaos in the middle of the Oblivion Crisis to get revenge on the Nine. Not exactly the most benevolent move there. About Spellbreaker, it really does break RP. It's such a useful tool for paladin builds, but you have to serve Peryite to get it, making it hard to justify RP-wise. A ward would be the best replacement, as wards still give AR, even if it's not as much as a shield.

    I like it!

BTW, if you switch this image out for the one you currently have, it should appear less grainy and blurred ;D

Reply for both Breaker, Chris and Althalos.

You're all right. I've only played Skyrim, so I'm sorry for my ignorance about Meridia's past wrongdoings to mankind. I'll have to think hard through for a weapon that replaces Dawnbreaker, maybe a weapon with the Chaos Damage enchantment, that weapon could mimic the skill "Vengeance" of the Paladin from D2, dealing elemental on hit. Maybe with "Augmented Flames/Shock/Frost" perks coulb be even more powerful, and not RP breaking.

For the shield, a lesser ward or steadfast could replace spellbreaker, it is basically a shield, only magic in nature.

    Thanks for your replys ;D

Actually, I'm not sure that Dawnbreaker necessarily breaks RP. I'm not looking to start an argument, but simply would like to point out that A) Meridia's past wrongdoings are waaay back in the past and B) Books and other sources available in Skyrim do not much describe them.

Remember that it has been 200 years since the events of Oblivion, and then consider how easily smaller things can be forgotten when bigger things happen - like the Great War, or the Imperials giving up Talos worship. Thus, you might only have to adapt your lore a little bit: what if the Paladin of Westmarch simply does not know about Meridia's past doings and sees her(it) for simply a deity who hates the undead as he does? Especially since he's a human, for him the times of Oblivion were over two whole lifetimes ago.

I'm just giving you an option, since I once did a Demon Hunter playthrough with strict RP, not using any of my out-of-game knowledge, and, after perusing through quite a number of libraries around Skyrim, my character came to the conclusion that Meridia is not evil. Simply because in Skyrim, only the Song of Pelinal mentions Meridia's olden dealings with the Ayleids, and even that says that the  Ayleids made a deal with her Aurorans, not herself (we know this is not true, but the only source in Skyrim says otherwise!).

Sources available in Skyrim do not mention Meridia's assault during the times of the  Oblivion crisis - and I believe 200 years might be well-enough for a group of paladins to crop up who respect her for her hatred of undead.

Spellbreaker is a much more difficult thing to justify, as Breaker noted. Yet again, not impossible - perhaps Orchendor has done something so horrible he has become the target of righteous revenge? Thus, you'd acquire the Spellbreaker as a side effect of destroying a wicked man - which Orchendor certainly seems to be, since not only did he serve a Daedra lord, he also betrayed the one he served.

I think your build is great and have given you a +1 As a critical suggestion, maybe break up the gameplay section a little so that it doesn't look like a block of solid text. It does read in sections, after all.

Wow, that's a detailed answer. Glad you took the time to reply :D

What's implicit on the lore of the Paladin of Westmarch is that he is from a veeeeeery distant land, or maybe another dimension, since the build is inspired on another game (Diablo II). The character does not know Oblivion, or Daedra, since in the past three or two years he was dealing with the menace of the Prime Evils in Sanctuary! It doesn't matter whether Sanctuary is a continent far away from Tamriel or even another dimension, the character is ignorant of great part of the lore in Skyrim, and the beginning of the history (almost being executed for crossing a border that he does not even know in the middle of a war he does not know too) is very fitting with this fact.

Meridia's past sins were really a loooong time ago, it makes sense that the paladin does not know about it.

Tha thing that really breaks the RP with spellbreaker is the character having to "drug" himself to commune with Periyte, and knowing that he is the lord of Pestilence, since that khajit tells him beforehand (I think).

I'll fix the gameplay section ASAP! Thanks for pointing that and liking my first build .

A build based on my favorite game of all time, instant like!

I really like how you integrated the Diablo 2 Paladin's skills into this build, especially the auras. A shame those auras cannot affect your companions. I also have a suggestion, you can simulate the Paladin's Fanaticism Aura by using Elemental Fury or Battle Cry. If only we can use Blessed Hammer on Skyrim this build will be awesome.

I think you can also make a Druid out of Skyrim, with many of his skills almost similar to Skyrim shouts and spells. Some examples:

Cyclone Armor (Dragonskin), Hurricane(Blizzard), Summon Spirit Wolf(Summon Familiar), Tornado(Cyclone Shout), Werewolf(Beast Form) etc etc.

    +1

It's good to see that Diablo 2 is also popular here :D

Sure thing, the auras were the most powerful skills of the paladin's arsenal, and I thought hard to integrate those auras in Skyrim, surely Battle Cry would make a perfect fanaticism for your follower, while Elemental Fury would make a nice fanaticism for yourself or a nice Zeal. Shame the shout cooldowns we can't combo the toghether! Shame there's not Concentration nor Blessed Hammer, I miss the hammerdins

A druid is entirely possible as you said, and I'll add one more spell from Dragonborn that integrates a Druis skill. Don't you think "Whirlwind Cloak" would make a perfect Hurricane? My god, even the wind circling the character! And also frostbite is Arctic Blast, both are a weak jet of ice! :D

Thank you very much for the like and the idea of the Druid!
