Believe it or not, this actually came out before the Dawnguard DLC did; Mason even makes a note of that on his page. Thus, the character was designed with vanilla Skyrim and by extension, regular vampirism, in mind. Of course, it's your game, so nothing's stopping you from using the Vampire Lord form if it tickles your fancy.

Not sure if Mason is still on here as I'm relatively new to the blog.
Starting this build today, looks great (I was torn between this one and The Nightguard (by Ponty).
Anyway, I've read through about 30 pages of the posts before starting so I'm good on most of the skill breakdowns. Here's my question...
You say you don't have to go Expert or Master in Resto or Destruction (you did it for RP reasons). If I take those points out any idea where they might fit best? I'm thinking either Glass Smithing (I like the Glass look better than elven although appearances don't make the game for me) and then three points into Alchemy for a slight healing boost/poison boost/1Hor 2H Fortify boost. Very unusual to not see Alchemy in a build..lol (although I understand staying away from the three buff "cheat")

Cool. I was torn between this and Ponty's build. Can't believe I never knew about this site. Well, better late than never. I was reading the old pages last night and did see that (after I posted the question of course...lol).
This build looks intriguing with the slow time work while I loved Ponty's video with Grip and then shape changing. Decisions decisions..

Blizzard as a vampire can cause major damage!
Actually, since your own Frost/Magic Resistance reduces the damage done when you cast Blizzard (due to a glitch), casting it as a vampire will stunt its damage, which will then be further reduced by Breton's innate Magic Resistance (Breton being the race Mason recommends for this build). I'm not sure why Mason bothered perking Master Destruction at all with this build.

Come to think of it, the build turned three years old less than a week ago. :P
Yeah, I guess the Blizzard glitch wasn't known back then. The reason why I brought it up is because Mason's builds (and by extension, their comments) are frequently seen by new people and they might get the impression from your comment that being a vampire augments Blizzard when in fact the opposite is true.
