Hey, cool thanks. It's that lightning storm I can't wait to get at. Even on my 300+ hour character, still haven't mastered destruction. This will be my first build from the vault, so I just thought I'd check.

So is it okay to use items like the novice hood for example that gives +30 magicka, but once I get to the stone I should take off ALL magicka increasing items, drink the pots, activate the stone...? I don't want to grind out this character to find out I screwed up in the beginning lol

EDIT:Also, I noticed in the Obsidian Sentinel build Mason suggests to use a potion of restoration and a potion of restoration + frost weakness but for the Seraphim it's two philter of the healer and one draught of the healer...do they both give the 78% bonus? Because if so, it's way easier to make the two potions mentioned in the Sentinel's build rather than having to buy the philter/draughts...

just curious if anyone knows. Regardless, I'll be working on this character tonight and eventually test this out but if someone already knows that would be awesome.

Head over to the tips and tricks section and look up my discussion on 'unlimited concentration casting'. This explains the mechanics behind this glitch in greater detail through the course of the comments section. You can use extra +magicka gear but you have to be careful of where your total magicka gets to and what you equip while under the fortify restoration effect (see discussion for details). The obsidian sentinel is boosting the atronach stone but it is not setting up the concentration casting effect. There the intention is to get at or over 100% boost so alchemy is needed. Here very specific % boosts are needed so store bought potions are the most reliable way to achieve this.

I haven't read through all of the comments, but has anyone tried this with the Vampiric Grip spell glitch? It is a concentration cast spell and would pair well with a flame spell in the other hand. Just hold the enemy aloft and burn him while slowly draining health. Or use the drain life spell to get even more health absorption. I've played around a little with this build but as this idea hit me I think I'll make a full blown vampire version of her. One other great bit about the Vampiric Grip spell is that you can keep it in your left hand without having to redo the glitch if you equip two handed swords (ebony blade is a nice option). When you sheath them the last spell you used is equiped in your left hand again. (Using the Disarm shout and telekinesis to steal the weapon is fun also when you don't have to worry about running out of magicka)

Oh, don't take necromage and become a vampire before taking the advanced atronach stone. May mess with the math. Silent casting with detect life and vampiric grip can make for some very movie-like assasin moments when plucking an enemy that is surrounded by his allies with none of them becoming aware of it.

Thought of another tidbit or two. An enemy in your grasp will be within your cloak spell and can be skewered by your weapon. And for those of you who read this and realized that you can't cast bound sword to do the Vampiric Grip glitch and have 100 percent magic absorb, you'll just have to be careful to never equip anything in your left hand OR not overpower yourself with the full 100 percent absorb. Keeping it at 78 makes wards handy the whole game long.

Maybe I'll have to write up my own build for this as the ideas just keep coming. Vampiric Grip while riding a dragon... oh the fun you could have.
