Appears it's the S.U.P. (patch) then.

Oh, one last thing maybe...do you have to have the Atronauch perk in Alteration to get that final bump?  I don't have that perked yet.

I didn't have it, and it worked. But, don't run into a Wispmother, they cause the glitch to break

This was the last character I played Russell so I never got chance to test that one out...

Would be really quick to test the theory if you have access to dragonborn frost and a couple of perk points ready to spend on a one/two handed character. Just save before doing any testing so you don't screw up your character...

Enemies clearly get some kind of buff when they're frozen in the ice, if the game gives them max AR for a set duration then the mace perks could potentially negate the bonus and allow you to do damage.

However if the game awards them 95% damage reduction then the idea is a no go...

So it all depends on the nature of the buff...

Ok I decided to go and find out about this once and for all!

    It DOES work

With Skullcrusher 3/3 you can negate the armor bonus that enemies get from dragonborn frost and completely ruin them.

Like I said in the video, there's potentially a strong little build in there somewhere...

    Yeah, yeah! Sure you are!

Just running about doing it now. It's actually very OP.

Unlike Dragonborn Flame you don't need to use all three words of the shout to apply Dragonborn Frosts paralysis.

So you get a 15 second 'paralysis shout' that does 75 damage over time (aug frost 2/2) a fairly short CD (30sec) and only recieve a 25% reduction in damage once you've taken the mace perks.

Seem to remember the atronach forge only spews out enchanted blunts so maybe that could play a role. I'm actually a fan of the Steel Mace, love that thing.

    Enchanted Blunts?!

Do enemies stagger more when attacked by mace/hammer. Or is the chance to stagger increased maybe?

Has anyone proved/disproved this or done any work on it?

Either way, Force Without Effort could be a nice stagger duration bonus.

Maybe the armor rating of an enemy has something to do with chance to stagger which could be another bonus for taking mace perks.

    Also: Longhammer!

I thought you might be right, I have been using everybody else's work on the site and decided it would nice now if I gave something back. Was thinking Dark Elf Vampire Hunter Mace being his main weapon plus a few other skills to make a well rounded, pretty good first build. Thank you for the information I am grateful.
