First of all, congratulations on moving to your new house!

Next, I'll second what Ebonslayer said. I give you a hearty applause for moving past this defeat - after all, failure is a lecture on how to succeed. Kindlefire also sounds fantastic! I've never been to keen on creature-focused stories, but I'll certainly make an exception for Kindlefire. Knowing your skills, it will hold my interest for certain!

Thanks Unhelpful. Honestly, for me, I've found that non-human characters are more fun to write (DOTE stars an Argonian, after all). It gives me more freedom to create interesting social dynamics.

Also, your comment perfectly exemplified one of my fears about the title - Kindredfire and Kindlefire are easily to mix up. XD

That is true! It's always fun to bend the reader's understanding of society with something completely out of their world. But my original world (which has no stories yet) is all human. There are no other sentient races, no elves, no beast-men, no dragons. Magic exists as a ritualistic and evil power used only out of jealousy or hatred. For me, it is geography and culture that is most fun to twist.  But hey, that's the great thing about writers - we all have very different tales to tell!

Arghh, how the heck did I manage to do that?? TWICE?? Shoot me in the eye, it is clearly malfunctioning. -___-'' Really sorry about that.

Don't even worry about it.  I'd actually be interested to hear more about this world of yours.

Hey guys! Guess what? I'm a loser!

    ...

    ...F**k.

You know, I can joke about this all I want to, but humor doesn't make it any easier to swallow.

Don't get me wrong. NaNoWriMo's had plenty of upsides and I'm excited for the future. It's just hard for me to ignore the flaming wreckage. Admittedly, 30k words was what I expected I'd be able to write in a month. I just wished it would've at least all been toward a single story.

Instead my writing got scattered all over the place. I didn't even finish four chapters of DOTE like I wanted to, despite coming very close. It's a great feeling when you accidentally sleep in through all of your planned writing time on the last day of NaNo. Makes you feel like a champ. And by that I mean complete s**t.

I'm mad, if you can't tell. I'm partially writing this to vent, so pardon my moment of weakness here.

But I'm not done. F**k that, I'm not.

Alright, show's over. Let's get back to business!

I suppose I'll just wrap this up with a question to you all...

Should I release the chapters of DOTE I've written? Or hold off for a while?

Bear in mind, if I release the chapters sooner rather than later, it'll be some time before I pick up writing them again. Several months at least. I won't leave you all on a cliffhanger, don't worry. I just dislike the thought of starting Arc 3, then making you all wait for its continuation.

Just let me know what you'd like me to do. ^^

And for those of you who did pull off 50k, congratulations. I mean it. Be proud of yourselves.

You don't have to write 50,000 words in a month to be a good writer Okan, just do your best. And don't worry about DOTE, just do what you think is right. If you think it should wait a little longer then we can wait, but if you think you should release it now then go ahead.

30k words is nothing to joke about mate, and the fact is that even your "vents" are well written, so the whole affair is far from a flaming wreckage, I'm sure. Sometimes (often, really) writing doesn't come easy, and thats okay; just hang in there.

As for sleeping in, the only advice I can offer is don't party too wildly the previous night :P

personally I think christmas or new years would be perfect to release the chapters

Sound advice, but I don't party wildly.

My sleeping habits are irregular. In this particular case, my alarm didn't go off.

I'd thought about this too. If I choose a date, it'll definitely be one of those.
