Wow. This is a seriously fun build. I have never truly appreciated the power of fear until I tried this out. My only question is: Could there possibly be a different chest piece? I find the Necromancer robes to be kind of bland, and so instead I wear the ebony mail, because being cloaked in shadow and death when entering the fray is pretty terrifying no? +1 well deserved though, sooooo much terror >:D

Thanks for the kind words Jhohhan. The Ebony Mail is definitely a good choice for the build, since you are not sneaking around, the heavy armor protection and aesthetic is really fitting.

Glad you enjoy the build! Let me know if you have any more questions.

This is an excellent build, and my favorite way to play vampires (though I switch Fire for Frost - and Shock on undead/Nords/spiders/etc - when it comes to Destruction)

My only question: would it hurt to use Alteration for the first few levels? I'm a roleplayer, and my Fearmonger character is going to be a College mage until she joins the Volkihar, so she'll be wearing robes instead of light armor for a long time. I just want enough for Adept flesh spells... would it affect the build at all if I switched the 4 perks you put in Speech for Alteration?

    Thanks!

Of course! I love any changes to builds to suit RP especially. Alteration would make a good addition here for sure. Glad you like the build.

Would you recommend picking up some crafting skills if going beyond level 50? I have never defeated a Legendary dragon and would really like to do so on this character.

For sure, you could certainly add in crafting. Alchemy and enchanting would fit nicely within this build and just amp up the power of all of the spells you use. Powerful enemies don't really stand much a chance towards higher levels even without crafting. Dual Wrathmen summons and repeated fire spells can clear pretty much anything in your way.

First of all, thanks for replying.
I think I'll pick up enchanting first to just enchant away some of the cost
of the destruction and illusion so I'll be able to use incinerate and rout a little more
freely. I have found unhooded recharging robes (100% magicka regeneration)
which is really useful in combination with the necromage perk. The ring of erudite
also goes really well with this character and makes magick regeneration just insane.

I am really enjoying this build and love revisiting skyrim with it.
At level 48 now and fighting my way through Dawnguard. I collected all
of the vampire lord perks and it basically has become my "Oh Shit" button.
I admit I was a little sceptical at first because I usually
play my mages with alteration for the flesh spells
(archers can really hurt) and restoration as just a supporting skill.
But playing this build has just been a blast every second
of the way. I think I am making this my main and play through all
of the DLC, collect all the artifacts, etc.

Once I pick up the Aetherial Crown and the mistman, wrathman spells
I'll think I'll give ransacking whiterun a try.

    Thanks!

This is probably my favorite build on thus site. And there are a lot of really good ones here. I am shocked it isn't in the hall of fame as it is truly worthy.
