    So maybe I am seeing things wrong, but I noticed something odd when I was finally able to make my thralls.

    I did as Mason said in one of the comments, get a follower into the blades, kill them, removed everything except the ceremonial weapon, thrall them, then fast travel to make them have new gear on them.

    I did that with one follower, but the second one, I just killed and raised immediately, and I noticed that they had the ceremonial weapons equipped and not the blade sword.

    Should I kill, strip, thrall both of them? How can I be sure they will use the blade sword?

    Oh, looks like I fixed it.  When they respawned new gear after being thralled, they had no weapons, so I grabbed two more blades swords and gave it to them, and they started using it. Yay!

    Yeah I witnessed one of my guys pull out a ceremonial weapon at one point!!

    You actually have to watch out for that because if they get disarmed by a draugr deathlord you're going to lose one of your markers because you have no way of getting it back into their inventory without you picking it up first. (assuming you are using markers)

    Just make sure they have a decent sword to play with and they will always use it.

    They won't respawn with new blades swords unfortunately, you get a limited stock to mess with but I definitely saw the rack in the temple replace a blades sword at one point during the playthrough. Randomly it was 'legendary' and it wasn't me that hung it up...

    Hit a small snag with my thralls - they seem to have hunting bows and iron arrows as part of their default equipment. I've stripped them both down to just blades sword and shield but as soon as they get into combat they spawn the bows and arrows again. Looks like I'm going to have to kit everyone out with crossbows for the better aesthetic. I wonder if I should have stripped them of their bows before raising them the first time as thralls?

    Apart from that everything has come together nicely. I've not played a team build before and it's a great experience (and sometimes very chaotic). My only thought on the write up would be to include a step by step idiots guide to the thrall creation process (for idiots like me ) - it was only by luck that I'd inducted my followers into the blades before picking up the ceremonial weapons. Great build!

    That's not right. They shouldn't respawn their bows once you take them away. Try tempering their swords or something.

    +1 to the dummy guide! :D Right now I'm rolling with my two blades thralls and their ceremonial weapons but I had to read the build three times to understand how it works.

    Great work Mason. I'm having a lot of fun!

    It was weird. They had the bows and were using them in combat but when I killed them and looted the corpse the bows were not in their inventory (but still plain as day the corpses had bows on their backs). After a few reloads and several fast travels the bows have disappeared for the time being. Might have been a glitch of some kind. I'm on the PS3 in case there is some platform issue here.
