But in Dawnguard Vyrthur directly stated that the sun was "Akatosh's influence upon the world", how is this reconcilable?

Reading up some more on the lore, akatosh is the main deity who is represented by light. He is know for forging auriels bow and shield. He is resembled by the fact that restoration magic is closely related to the sun but indeed did not create the sun  himself. He was one of the first aedra to be spawned. Indeed he has an influence but what other gods do not?

I thought restoration was Mara... grrr. I just don't see how Magnus is the sun, but it represents Akatosh, is that just how people see it?

Vix explained it in his article on Altmer: Altmer part 1

Magnus is not the sun. The sun was named after him. Aedra have many different influences on the world and merely are an understanding for all aspects of life.

    Read this:

"The principle deity of the Aldmeri and Altmeri religion, the soul of Anui-El and the god of time. He was famous for his defense of elvenkind in the early merethic era, and most Altmer (and Bosmer) trace their lineage back to him. It was through his ascension that the elves were supposed to learn how to escape the mortal confines of Mundus. One of his prominent symbols, despite being made by Magnus, is that of the Sun."

Its a great build an all but it thrives on an exploit. I'm not a fan of the fortify resto potion since when coupled with any shrine blessing and standing stone it heavily breaks the game.Example: If you use the resto potion method on the shrine of azura u get full magicka resist. Same with the shrines to boethiah ,julianos, akatosh, auriel, arkay and kynareth.

Why not just use the telvanni wizards method and then grab the apprentice stone? Its easier and does not use an exploit. Using the resto potion to boost poison rune power and healing spell power is fine.
