Character Building Suggestion Box (2018)

The Suggestion Box is a relatively simple place, here you can drop in with your thoughts on recent new projects started by the CB Hosts, or drop in your own suggestions. You can suggest new Events, themes for the Weekly Features, new types of content or discussion that you'd like to see, and I'll do what I can to either start it up or at least explain why I can't/won't. Doesn't matter if you've been here for two years, two days, two hours or two minutes as long as you've got a suggestion, I'm down to hear it :D

Also...yes I know there's another Suggestion Box somewhere, but I wanted to start a 2018 version anyway.

So, just because it's going to give this discussion extra bumps, I'm going to start listing all of my little changes as I go about changing things.

Today I've edited the 'Welcome to CB' discussion to include a few extra links. Namely, the recent discussions I've started as well as the Lore Archives, Art Group Request Thread...and I'm aiming to get something from RP but I'll have to chat with Zonn about that because I've just never been active there :(

I've also edited the Archives a little bit, but still in the process of changing things there. Basically I've added some more sub-categories without changing anything/ For example, grouping tags into Warrior / Magic / Thief just for a bit more...not clarity but kind of like a secondary tag. I know that it isn't a perfect solution because so many of the tags are actually 'crossovers' between Magic and Combat, Magic and Stealth and so on, but it's a quick change.

Also just edited things in both visually because I do that a lot...

I've been here a while, have a bit of a query: Earlier Arbalist asked this in a status: "If you use beast form to kill astrid will it count as assault or murder?"

I'm not sure it's strictly a question about building, but neither is it a tip or trick. But there are elements of building within that question, I suppose. It could go to forums, I guess. Is there a general ask a question on matters vaguely bordering on the building? For now I just directed him to the general discussion thread where those who are most likely to know are active.

It’s a game mechanic thing. I figured it it would be fine either way so long as there are no witnesses.

Yeah, questions like that I think are best suited for the General Discussion, might not be strictly about building, but I think that just generally talking about Gameplay is more than fine there. Though I suppose an argument could be made for the Questions/Requests over at T&T, it is more about game mechanics and the crime system than it is building...eh wherever's fine if you want to direct them there Phil :D

Great idea starting this feed I have an idea it may be kinda bad since we just had the crossworlds (since they are supposedly an annual thing) but what if you had an event similar to that but you chose a specific topic like a specific movie or book?

Heh, I was actually debating something like that with myself the other day. Unfortunately, that always poses the risk of people not having read the book/watched the movie or whatever, or just people not liking it. Even if I went with the easiest fruit and said a build based off Morrowind (the game not the province) it'd leave some people feeling a bit bummed out.

That said, there are additional limiters that could be put on something like Crossworlds without sort of... limiting it to something as narrow as a single book/movie/show. Maybe limiting it to only Books or only Movies could work, I mean Fallout CB ran an Event recently that was based entirely off Comic Books (actually I'm not sure how recent it is...) or even doing a specific genre. But yeah, wouldn't happen anytime soon with Crossworlds just finishing.

Thanks for the suggestion though Zal, always great to have people stepping forward :D

True that is the thing I was debating just before I posted but if you do very popular movies eg Star Wars then people will know but not everyone must participate so...
