No, DB read it again :P

you can learn all the spells you want but every morning you can only Favorite 5 spells and you can ONLY use these 5 spells for the day until you sleep and the sun rises again.

Yeah, I know that :P I meant is it always 5 favourited spells or can that increase throughout the game? I mean, we could say (as an additional RP rule) that each time you get a skill to 100 you get an additional spell to kind of represent...well Mastery of magic really. Something like that you know.

You could do something like that but Master is a little far ^^ Maybe every 10 lvls you get a new slot ^^

I think Mastery sounds like a logical RP point. And from a gameplay perspective, as the variation of skills used is greatly decreased due to the spell limit, you should be getting your most used schools to 100 quickly, definitely before level 30.

But if we take a leaf from achievements, level 25, 50 and 75 (if you get that far) make sense. At level 10 you're still barely capable of much variety in spell casting, so one more slot wouldn't achieve that much early on.

On the other hand, maybe at mastery of a skill you could reduce the cost of the school to <50%, maybe even 100% reduction on Master.

Oh yeah i didnt think of that, that youre skills rise so fast. Especially with mage stone and well rested. Or you could do something similar to DnD, where stronger spells take up more slots so lets say start with 10 slots and Novice=1Apprentice=2 and so on ^^ That would open up the possibility that you could say that at mastery the slot requirement from Apprentice to Master goes down by 1 ^^

THIS is great example of how RP can breathe life into your game--love the idea of using the favorites menu as your grimoire, too :D

@DB--I totally want to know how the Vancian Cleric turns out!

BTW, this discussion is currently being featured on the TV Twitter and Facebook pages!
