“The Thalmor are a petty political movement, nothing more. But if they are allowed to rule for too long, their words and actions will seep into all of Summerset, and poison it. If they are allowed to get a comfortable hold over everything, then it will be impossible to wipe them all out, because they will always scurry back into their nests, they will always pretend to be loving, compassionate, while secretly working to make this world a vile place. We must kill them now, not with political movements or speeches of love, but with fire and ice. With gales that sweep them away, with lightning bolts that make the most high and mighty Thalmor ash in the ground. With death, with every mean possible, no matter the cost.” - Arlya

    Name: Arlya

    Race: High Elf

    Sex: Female

Age: Born in 3E 424, she is 210 years old, but a mixture of the High Elves longevity and the lingering effects of her Restoration magicks when she was in the Summerset Isles keeps her feeling and looking young. However, she is still quite old, and even the lingering Restoration magic within her only goes so far, so she must be careful not to overexert herself or stay out in the cold of Skyrim too long.

Description: Has green eyes, and is as tall as the typical Thalmor. She has golden hair which she lets hang loose to her shoulders, and has small wrinkles on her face.

Distinctive Features: Has a number of scars that are usually hidden beneath a mage’s robe, with one light scar hidden underneath her hair. Has a tattoo around her eyes that was originally red, but she can change its color with magic. However, the spell requires dying materials to cast, preventing her from changing it very often. She can also make it almost the exact tone of her skin, enabling her to stand out less.

Place of Birth: The Summerset Isles/Alinor.

Location in 4E 201: The College of Winterhold, tracking down a tome that had been alluding her for several decades.

Description: Growing up, she was a happy young girl. Skilled, like most Altmer, in the art of magic, she had much talent in Restoration and Alteration, but little skill in Destruction. She resigned herself to become a healer, and while she sometimes yearned to go out and see more of the world, she enjoyed her work and could not bear the thought of leaving home. She read books, worked at temples, and studied Alteration magic in her free time.

Throughout her life, she was outspoken against the Thalmor, which lead to an assassination attempt on her life by one of their young followers. Shaken, she fled the Summerset Isles, intending to return once the Thalmor had grown less bold, but was permanently sundered from her home when they instead rose to power. Now, she is still kind, and a gentle spirit, but has anger that even her old age cannot temper. Her healing magicks are gone, and her Destruction magic became much more powerful.

She has spent almost all of her time outside the Isles seeking a way to destroy the Thalmor, and by the time the dragons reappear in Skyrim, she is considering seeking a deal with Daedra, for she is running out of leads and tales to follow. Finding a tome that she had been tracking on and off for a few decades, however, rekindles the hope inside her for an ancient artifact, a lost spell, anything to use against the Thalmor. And, she finds much more than what she could have hoped for.

Arlya sometimes pictures herself using Destruction magic in her youth, and wonders how that would have changed her life.

Interests: Books, Alteration magic, creating new spells, and swimming.

Strengths: Strong mage, Determined, Experienced, Loyal.

Weaknesses: Stubborn, Spacey, Has days where she can do nothing but remember her old life, Often creates a complicated battle plan when a much simpler one would work better, Becomes so focused on one goal that all other aspects of her life suffer, including the need to eat, drink, and sleep.

Friends: Urag-gro-Shub, Tolfdir. Has contacts throughout Tamriel, but some are more friendly than others, and she doesn’t keep in touch with most.

Enemies: Thalmor, Synod, and anyone she has clashed with over political issues. She is outspoken, and while she’ll quiet when the Thalmor are in a town with her, she almost always finds herself in a heated argument over politics, despite her distaste for them.

Alright! Got this one finished, it was a little side project so I could expand Arlya a bit, add some things that I wanted to write but wouldn't fit into the first few chapter of Frozen Tears. Though, of course, all of these details will eventually be explained. Fun fact, I had already planned out her tatto, including the color changing part, but was wondering if it was too small a detail to add. I found two pieces of art with the same tatto I was picturing though, so, here it is! They even had roughly the same hair style! Most of the art was kinda... revealing, though.

Anyway, thanks for reading the profile, and reading my little explaintion of how it came to be. :D

Edit: Oh yeah, and the hair in the pictures are diffrent colors. Just don't read too much into them :P

Arlya's the protagonist of your blog series? Man, time permitting I'll now give it a read as this is a cool profile. I'm curious as to what book has been alluding her.

One of three, actually! Didn't even consider that I'd get some free advertising from this. :P And the book pops out pretty much as soon as you start reading, so you won't have to wait for long! From her reaction/what preperations she makes, you might even be able to recall the quest from Skyrim.

Nice to see another Altmer running around sticking to the Thalmor. :D

Another profile? You people do like to spoil me don't you?

You weren't gonna include the tattoo?! But it's awesome! It's the little unique quirks like that that make a character awesome, and with that little addition it makes this character even cooler than it already is. You don't see many non-combat oriented characters, and the fact that she's also on a mission such as this (and even considering consorting with the Daedra! That can only end well...) gives her a sense of pride, elegance if you will. She's motivated and dangerous in her own right, even if its not evident at first.

An Altmer profile? Finally, something besides Breton. :P

It is very basic with simple info, but I do think it gets your points across though I would love to see this expanded and with more depth. This is a good profile. :)
