The Gold Route: Over 6k gold with no skills trained

  • May 18, 2016
Glad to hear it's working for the Arcane Archer! I originally developed it just to get a Hearthfire house for a huntress, but it certainly helps with any build that heavily relies on training. I like how you worked the different locations into your character's story as an apprentice merchant.

How long does it take to go through all of this?

As I mention near the top, it can be completed in about half an hour from the exit of Helgen cave!  It may take a bit of practice to get the speed down; I've done it lots of times to test and improve it.

Thank you, completely missed it :D.

What might be interesting is that once you step out of the cave and go straight ahead, passing the rocks, there will be a Talos-shrine to the left of you. There you can find some gold, a complete Thalmor outfit (gloves, boots and robes [with 15% fortify destruction enchantment!, nice for mages]) aswell as a random piece of equipment with a radom enchantment. Together they are worth quite some gold and it only takes 2 minutes to collect them.

I know I've said it already but this is such a great guide and extremely useful.  It has become my de facto start for just about every character, plus it's kind of fun just to do it as a sort of mini quest.  I even incorporated this in my NecroGrind leveling strategy.  So thanks again Librari.

This is awesome. I used this guide in conjunction with this page: http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Quest_Timing So when I hit each town on your list I would also do the bs quests that didn't level me up (like favors for the alchemists so you can take their ingredients) and now I'm rich, I have a house and horse, and decent starting weapons all for free at level 1.
