Debate: Sneak Archery

I personally use sneak archery as a combat-opener of sorts. Sneak in with my trusty bow, shoot a few arrows into the enemies and pull out my sword to slash the rest.

I used to really hate stealth archery, like with a passion, back in the first couple years of Skyrim having come out. Specifically, some people used stealth archery as a reason to complain for the game being boring and easy, when it was their own damn fault it was boring for them. I know it makes gameplay mind numbing for me, and I just can't understand why anyone would focus on doing thousands of points of damage, and one shot killing everything without ever being attacked.

I had hated stealth archery in the same way I hated crafting, they make the game turn into a grind when used to their full extent. But I have used crafting, and I have shot arrows from stealth. My archers use stealth attacks occasionally even though they aren't stealth builds, and the few stealth builds I have played don't upgrade archery very much. It's useful as a tactic, just as crafting is useful to make up for weaknesses, but I don't think it should be the core essence of a build. Of course that doesn't mean it can't, I've seen crafting be essential to builds without making them uninteresting and I'm sure sneak archery can as well.

It's an okay mechanic, but its just too easy to make it overpowered. The person playing the game would have to regulate its use (or abuse) on their own.
