I really like this, the timing for crossbow double shot is very difficult but I managed to go absolutely nuts on a charging giant. great times. Still, this page is fantastic, and I would absolutely love if someone made something like this but for melee combatants.

The problem is, I don't think there are enough unique techniques, at least that I know of. I could only come up with a couple at most.

Thanks for the like, Seneca. If you think the repeating crossbow is cool, try the beatdown! It damages much faster and sends enemies flailing through the air like rag dolls :D

@Sam/Raidriar I've been meaning to test some melee glitches/exploits. If I find something cool I'll PM you. Maybe you could do a melee guide if we find enough.

Yeah, we could try. I'll PM you some of mine as well if you want.

I only got the repeating crossbow once though, I am trying all the tactics but unfortunately some of them don't work on crossbows :( too bad, I love the crossbow so much. bow blocking, I have not managed to pull of on a crossbow, did you? I tried many times, it would be so cool, imagine, pulling of the quick reflexes and executing your attacker with a shot in the back of the head! with a bow it is a little more complicated, I always was annoyed by the time to draw the arrow then fire, that is why I love the crossbow, you can just fire once and switch to a sword if things get too close, then switch up again when you have a clearer shot and shoot instantly.

I hope you guys go forward with the melee guide, there are some cool things in many builds involving these tactics and it would be nice to have them all together in a neat list

You say that the stagger done by Power Shot has a magnitude of 0.25 out of 1.00, but it always seems to me like quite a big stagger. What weapons or abilities are there that can stagger an opponent with a magnitude of 1.00? How long would this stagger last? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I'm interested to know what the best way of staggering opponents in combat is.

That's a really good question and one that James could probably answer better than myself. Off the top of my head, we can see a larger magnitude of stagger between the first and second words of Unrelenting Force. The first word staggers about the same amount as a bash from a weapon or shield would. The second word, however, has a much longer animation, perhaps close to 1.0. Taking another stab in the dark with NO testing, it could be possible that any stagger exceeding 1.0 causes the opponent or player to fall creating the 'rag doll' effect we get with the third word of Unrelenting Force. Once again, this is just me speculating so don't take this to heart. As far as I know, Power Shot combined with crossbows IS the most reliable way to stagger when it comes to weapons. You'll have a 75% chance to stagger altogether. 25% of the time, you will perform an elongated stagger. Hope this helped and for specifics, I'd PM James.

Yeah, I'd love to see what you came up with even if we don't make a post. PM me whenever. I don't have a lot of free time right now but if I discover any exploits or glitches I'll PM you and maybe the list will grow into a discussion. :)

I'll do some testing on the crossbow within the next few hours. I still need to edit the post a bit too. I've been slacking ;p
