Idea! In Moon and Star the Dragonborn is frequently mentioned, so possibly Sofia or Inigo could be the Dragonborn? Dunno, but that could be quite an interesting story arc, maybe? Maybe no Moon and Star if someone has a a better quest mod in mind. Any ideas?

Wulf, that concept sounds pretty unique and fun :D I can only really feedback things as I see them from my own point of view, and for a long time I got frustrated because I am unable to sustain a long story like some of the great talent we have here. The guys who regularly join in with Camp NaNo or who reach dozens of chapters or more have my absolute respect for what they can achieve. I have long since accepted that it is unlikely I will find something I am passionate enough about consistently enough to reach chapters in the double figures, or if I am there are other factors preventing me from sustaining a tale for so long.

We are each individuals and are inspired by different things, and I think it is great that you wear your heart on your sleeve. For me, what is important is that the creativity be allowed to happen when it needs to happen. A hundred chapters or just one, for me the joy and fulfillment comes from the doing and the feedback I may get from that. Trying to force it and aim for somthing breaks it for me. I'm a dog chasing cars and wouldn't know what to do with it if I caught one - I just do and take what pleasure I can from it.

So if there is a feeling of dissatisfaction, frustration or guilt, I would encourage you to let them go and embrace the pleasure of simply doing. Each time you act on what inspires you, something more is learned.

Right now, the gameplay and concept you have is what is moving you. I look forward to Drelvas' adventures and the passion in your story. I'd suggest looking at Teineeva's modder's log, Telvanni Bug Musk and other Frivolities as he mentions quite a few mods related to that House which might aid you here. Also, Telvanni Robes look pretty sick, and I'm quite a fan of Wearable Lanterns so as to have a torchbug in a jar for that organic feel.  Equippable Tomes may also be appropriate as they enhance or alter magic in a more subtle way, and the search for the unique books can become motivation and adventures to write about in and of themselves.

Play, have fun, and create. Don't over-stress about the destination but simply enjoy the journey with Drelvas.

    Awwwwoooo......

This is my own opinion and others may disagree which is fine....

I honestly think this applies to everyone... it's not a case of a wolf having a snap of his fangs..... this even applies to professional authors...

    Wulf, you said:-

if something (in my mind) isn't good enough, I just go into full shutdown mode.

Whether it's OCD, Dyslexia, poor spelling (me) or even typing with claws (Aela. Seriously have you even seen her fingernails? Their talons for howling out loud and she scratches like a wolf with them....) whatever you, I, Legion, Lissette, Stephen King, James Herbert writes, there will come a time when we look back at our work and think ‘that was awful’ or ‘I can do better’. Writing is one of those rare skills which is always developing. Whether it’s new words or a better way to explain something or a better execution of a plot, as everyone writes they get better.

Do not set yourself up with an impossible goal of ‘100% perfection’. In three months you’ll look back at it and see where you can improve upon it. Tamriel Vault is crammed full of members who have improved with their projects as time goes on. CB group, TSC, the Art group. Howl and furs... even Lore. Don’t worry about having it 100%, it never will be. Instead, when you’ve written it and you’re reasonably happy, move to the next chapter. Over time you will see your work and skills develop. That is when you can go back and if you so wish, apply the new skills you picked up and improve the earlier chapters.

There are two things I keep saying to myself and sometimes even here in TSC. "A story must have a definite a beginning, a middle and an end." And: "If I won´t write that story, nobody else will." That is what keeps me writing, to get the ideas from my head on a paper (or screen in this case).

What I´m on about? Well, I have noticed that you have posted several stories recently, only to scratch them very early in the writing process and I think that hurts both you as a writer and your readers. Because you invest time into writing and fleshing out characters, and readers invest time into getting to know them and everyone has some sort of expectations. And then you just scratch it, or put it on hold, and it just becomes a dust in the wind.

So... Mind you, this is just my opinion for a solution, but if you have problems with finishing story, especially because you get ideas for new stories and characters... Well, how about this:

Try to plan out a shorter plot, just "a part" of the characters´story. Focus on the most important things and write about them, deliver beginning and keep thinking about the end. (It sounds funny from me, I´m terrible at planning ahead. Just ask Lissette :D) Now, this will allow you to post more ideas, because once you finish this short story, you can write another, with a different character set in the same world, just in different place. Not everyone has to be Dragonborn and such. I think that this way this would allow you to write all your ideas, if you manage to keep it smaller. Short stories are even better sometimes in comparison to long stories.

Just try it, plan out a story of...let´s say 10 chapters max, maximum word count 15k and you´ll see where it gets you.

    This is my opinion. :)

Yeah, this is a good idea. Aiming for a short story can be easier and more rewarding than a multi-chapter grind. I think... not sure if I have ever managed even that :D

Ald Skar is all written in my head in terms of progression. Trouble is I started that at my lowest and find I can only write more when I am almost at that point. I have come to dread writing another chapter as the dude is so damned miserable which means I must be too :D I admit I miss writing the priestess, had a lot of fun with that. That was different, though, as it was based on gameplay and so didnt have a story planned, just fun writing up and trying different means of telling the tale from various povs. But ha, thanks for remembering :)

I'm thinking of re-editing my Saga of Twin Heroes story to match realism quite a bit more, so keep an eye out for that - I'm going to be making my goat-headed hero SHeogorath's Champion, so get ready for more CHEESE.

My current story, a saga of twin heroes, follows my goat-headed hero. I'm not happy with how that turned out, but I adore most of the concepts, so consider this a 'revamp' like every movie in the cinemas right now :D

Weomi Spellweaver is a direct descendant of Mor and Alessia (thanks paws for your lore on that :) and as such, can reason as well as talk. A minotaur of Skyrim, Weomi's great dream is to learn, and master the arts of magic. As such, he will follow the College of Winterhold, (primrily) Telvanni, and other magical quests. Accompanied by Sofia and Inigo (cuz I can't get enough of them :) he will propbably delve deep into quests like dwemertech, as well as Undeath and other quests. He is a chaotic-neutral type character, with a powerful anger, but equally powerful sense of honour and loyalty. He loves and adore sthe dunmer culture (like myself) and fancies himself somewhat of a scholar - i found that interesting, like the Orc in Winterhold's College, a minotaur hwo loves reading - so yeah. thoughts?

I'm not going to post this until I work out my aims for the first chapters, so remember, as Weomi would say 'Patience is a virtue - but very, very boring.'
