Haha, and you should! :D I can only speak for personal experience, it's rare that I get that feeling, but once I do... It's definitely something else and there is not much that can beat that feeling of accomplishment. :)

I meant to post this yesterday, but my internet went down before I got the chance. :/

    So! Updates and stuff! Yay!

First off, Arc 3 Chapter 2 is out! If you haven't read it yet, go have a look. The plot continues to thicken as Falura shares her fear of the Dragonborn.

There's only one chapter I have left on backlog. After that, DOTE will be on hold for some months. I do sincerely apologize in advance for the wait. Hopefully by the time I pick up the story again, I'll be full of fresh ideas! (Admittedly, I'm already kind of antsy to keep writing it. I have so much planned!)

On that note, Kindredfire is coming along wonderfully. I'm still not quite comfortable sharing more about the story, since there's a lot up in the air. I'm pantsing this manuscript more than I did with DOTE; that is, making up stuff as I go along. It's been really fun, though, and I'm excited to see how it turns out.

I don't want to give a hard estimate on when the manuscript will be finished. My dream would be to have it done by the summer time, but that could be a huge stretch. At the least, I want to finish it this year. I'm trying to become more consistent with my daily writing. So far, some success. But I foresee a bumpy road ahead.

Now for a more disappointing announcement...

I don't know if anyone has been expecting my participation in this month's AMOST, but I've decided that I'm not going to write a short story for it. I'm too entrenched in my current project. If I veer off and try to write other stuff, I'm afraid that I'll lose my momentum.

I haven't abandoned the story idea I came up with and may still yet write it. I think it'd be a shame if I didn't. For now, though, I'm forced to prioritize. This is what happens when you have too many ideas. :P

Tamriel Tales is still as active as ever, so if you're itching for more stuff to read in the meantime, go see what others have written. If you're in the market for something besides fanfiction, I recently finished a couple of fun books: His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik, and The Builders by Daniel Polansky. I give them both a hearty recommendation. :)

So with that, keep breathing folks! DOTE's not done yet and neither am I!

(Also, if you're state-side, keep warm. I wish I'd asked for a space-heater for Christmas. My typing fingers are frozen! :S)

No worries, Okan. It's not like there will never be another AMOST again. Put the short story for that one.

I see that the word counter has made a huge jump since I saw your last update. When you are on a roll that is great.

    Space-heater? I remember those.

Space-heater? Never heard of it. I see what you mean though. I'm not sure about where you're at but here in Pennsylvania it's like Jack Frost came for a vacation.

No, don't need space-heaters now. Live in Miami, FL. I did need one when I was getting my Doctorate in IL

In some ways it's great having so many ideas burning away. I often wish there was an extra hour in the day or even better an extra day in the week. Knowing my luck though I'd have to work it .

It's great to hear your Kindredfire writing is coming along so well. Like Lissette said, there will be other AMOST's so save your story for then. There have been lots of entries for AMOST and the list is growing.

On the other hand having so many idea's and projects does swallow the days faster than a pack of starving werewolves at a Stormcloak convention.

I've various tasks running and the days are flying by.

But like you said, it's one hell of abuzz when it all comes together. Glad it's going well.

OMG. Funny that you should bring up His Majesty's Dragon. I was thinking of you and Kindred Fire today, and I was going to comment on your wall asking if you'd read any of Naomi Novik's Temeraire series! What did you think of it? I have the first four books in the series, though I believe I was distracted and never finished the fourth. Been looking to reread it for quite some time.

Historical fiction or fantasy isn't my go-to read, but I very much enjoyed how she did the story. Another little fun fact, I think Naomi Novik was one of the peptalks we get during NaNoWriMo back in 2014!

The novel was fun. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Temeraire was just... disgustingly lovable. >.< All his scenes were the best parts of the book. I might yet read the second, but we'll see.

I'm basically getting my hands on all the books I can find that have dragons as main protagonists. I want to see how other authors approach writing them.

It's kind of surprising, actually... There aren't a lot of books out in print that have dragon POVs. And even then there are always humans. Hopefully that's at least one way in which my story is different.

I thought the books were marvelous, but I'll be the first to admit that Laurence in comparison to Temeraire wasn't very distinctive as a main character. He feels more like a necessary component of the narrative, to go where Temeraire cannot and do what a dragon cannot do in order to progress the story line. He's not unlikable, but Temeraire definitely earned the love of his readership! Who doesn't love that dragon?

I'd definitely give the second book a read. The way Naomi Novik handles the huge cultural differences in that book (and the one after) are fascinating. You can tell she's done plenty of research.

Sometimes I worry that Kjeld has a little bit of that 'necessary protagonist' syndrome with Frost Moon, and I've yet to devise any good strategies to break him out of that. XD Anyway, I'll stop derailing your ToC with my ramblings. Sorry about that!

Don't even worry about it. I like the discussion. Also, I couldn't agree with you more about Laurence. He didn't stand out much.
