One Blog a Day Updated Rule

    Awwwooo to one and all,

Werewolves, scribblers, the odd priest and yes I suppose vampires too.....

Lissette, who some of you know as 'The Long-Chapper', and I have had a bit of a discussion and we feel it is in everyone's best interest if we reactivate an old rule. For a while now everyone has been allowed to post blogs regardless of the time inbetween posting thier content. There are a fair few people in T.S.C. who now post rather long, mind boggling (at least to me) blogs which have taken them ages to write, format and edit. After all this work they put in, (not saying shorter chapters are less work, bear with me), after all this work they put in, there is potential for someone like myself who can write, edit and post a few chapters in a very short time. This means that their post can be quickly burried and knocked off the blog list.

The record for this happened two years ago when someone's chapter wass knocked off within several hours of them posting it.

With this rule, everyone stands an equal chance at having their work highlighted in the blogs section for a few days. (Hopefully).

Ilanisilver asked a god question which I will quote here.

Does the one a day rule include a TOC? Like, if we post a TOC and a chapter at the same time, does that break the rule? Or just two content-rich blogs, like two chapters or two separate stories?

ToC's do not count towards this. I am a great believer in ToC's and to be fair to new members/new stories, they can be very short when a new story starts out. They are also vital to showcase our work and to present the chapters, poem collections, ect which we have/will put together, over time within T.S.C.

So, here's a few examples of what someone can, can't post in a twentyfour hour window.

One ToC along with one poem or one ToC and one chapter to their story. They cannot post a poem and a chapter within twentyfour hours of each other. This applies to all members, Hosts, Admins, Werewolves and blood sucking vampires.....

I have been feeling rather grouchy and the Bad Wolf of the Blog hasn't bitten anyone for a while.....

The exception to this is if a Host has to post an event in the blogs. These do not count towards their blog totals. It would be unfair for Lissette or myself to post an event and find she or I cannot post a chapter because of it.

If anyone has any questions then by all means howl here or message me.

    Ask here or message me.......

Oh yeah...I just kinda forgot that this hadn't been the rule for awhile now, I've alway just kind of assumed it was. I like the rule to be honest, just in general it makes a lot of sense with the blogs because only so many can be shown on the main page.

Yeah, Sotek and I talked about it for a while. I'm glad about it personally. Shows that we are in a good place again since the site move where we need to back off production a bit and let blogs shine.

This may not be the only rule we start enforcing. From now on, we will also be looking more closely at word count. We have a 400 minimum for stories and because he and I have both been extremely busy with life changes, we let it slide a little in the past year, but now, expect the word count minimum to be enforced. So if people have been getting away with less than 400 words lately, see if you can somehow flesh out what you're writing or consider incorporating two chapters or snippets into one blog.

    Ermmmm

The 1 blog a day rule doesn't mean that only one blog from all of us.... Can someone else PLEASE start posting something? This is getting ridiculous........

    Anyone?

I think I'm running at more than one a year :-/ I was pleased to get the last chapter out as I had enough notes and haven't had access to Skyrim since early April, again life stuff has got in the way. Hoping things will settle down nearer the end of the year so I can be more creative on all fronts :-)

Ilanisilver, Lookig forwards to it. Bit of a daft question for you, if I may....

Did you ever repost those blogs you deleted? If not then why don't you repost them? Have a think on it. Looking forwards to your new story. Any taster of what we can expect?

Meli, I'll be keeping an eye out for it. It's a pain when life gets in the way. I know... trust me when I say this. Looking forwards to more of your art too.

    Just to add the pressure.....

Lissette, I'll be at work teh weekend so with some luck I'll be able to have a read.

I did repost. I deleted the first 6 or so chapters of A Good Man Goes To War, and Let Your Heart Be Light. But they’re back now. The new thing is inspired by Peaky Blinders. It’s almost done, just working on some of the formatting, which always takes the most time to work out!

I always thought of that as a hidden rule. Not set in stone but followed by most.
