    Backstory

The Squire was born in Kvatch, Cyrodiil in the year 4E 181. His father was a knight of a local order that was formed in the years after the Oblivion Crisis. It  was an order dedicated to wiping out daedra worshippers and cultists. The squires father was a huge role model for him and he begged his father to join his order when he was old enough. His father agreed and when he turned 14, he was knighted as a squire apprentice to his father. For the next couple years, he began his training in sword play and also learned how to forge armor. He was also given basic lessons from the local mage in the arts of restoration and illusion. When he turned 20, he was sent with his father on a mission to cleanse a cave of some necromancers. The mission went well up until they confronted the leader. He rose the dead around him and him and his father were quickly outnumbered. They both fought bravely and killed them all and the leader, but his father had a mortal wound and would die in that cave. His son gave him a proper burial and recited a prayer to Arkay and left the gave with grief in his heart. He failed his father on his first mission. He realized he could not return to Kvatch and face the shame of defeat. So he wandered North to Skyrim but was caught on the border. In the moments before his execution, he prayed that if he got out of there he would make his life purposeful, find a new worthy knight to serve and help out the people of Skyrim anyway he could. He got his wish when Alduin attacks Helgen and he is able to escape. Now, honor-bound, he will fulfill the promise he made and search the lands of Skyrim for a worthy knight to serve.

    Gameplay

Combat is a combination of a healer and warrior. Before you engage in combat with your companion, you will use a Courage or Rally spell on them to bolster their health and stamina. If their health starts to get low, cast a spell that will get them back on their feet. You will have to make sure the Rally spell does not wear off while your companion is down as they are known to die that way. However with you fighting along side them constantly, this should (in theory) never happen. Dependent upon your smithing skill, you will wear the best available light armor and your companion the best available heavy armor. End game armors will be Light Stalhrim Armor for you and Dragonplate (or Dragonscale) Armor for your companion. You are honorable first and foremost and will never steal, murder or commit any crimes.

    Gear & Companions

Weapons: Use the best available swords you can make per your smithing skill and enchant it if you choose. For your companions, you will do the same but make them use a mace and shield.

Apparel: You will use leather armor to start then work up the left hand branch of smithing (Elven, Scaled, Glass, Light Stahlrim & Dragonscale in that order). Companions will have the Heavy Armor equivilants going from Steel, Dwarven, Orcish, Ebony, Stahlrim, Daedric & Dragonplate)

Companions: Choose any companions that are specialized warriors. Housecarls are a good choice as they fit well with the Squires moral alignment, however the choice is up to the player.

    Factions

Civil War: This one is based on personal feelings, however siding with the Imperials is more roleplay friendly to the Squire because of his life around the Legion and his fathers order of knights.

Main Quest: Humble as you are, you will fulfill your destiny as Dragonborn and use it to help your allies in battle. Your honorable nature will also tell you to let Paarthurnax live in spite of what Delphine and Esbern think.

Companions: An honorable path for a knight-to-be. You will not keep the werewolf curse as that is against your honorable nature and will help Farkas and Vilkas cure theirs as well.

College of Winterhold: Learning the ancient secrets of Restoration and learning to better your Illusion magics make going to the College a worthwhile trip.

Thieves Guild: No honor among thieves and no good reasons to join them. Stay away from them.

Dark Brotherhood: Destroy them. Plain and simple.

Bards College: While you do not use speech, gaining extra speech points for speech checks is a nice added touch for this build.

Dawnguard/Volkihar: Side with the Dawnguard and put an end to Harkon's madness.

    Daedric Quests

The Black Star: Elect to turn Azura's Star into The Black Star instead of returning it to her.

Waking Nightmare: Help a priest of Mara lift a plague of nightmares on Dawnstar.

At The Break Of Dawn: Help a daedric prince put an end to a necromancer who has defiled her temple.

Discerning the Transmundane: Recieve Hermeaus Mora's gift and choose the path of Magic.

    Black Book Quests

Epistolary Acumen: Through the knowledge of the first of the six Black Books, you wil elect to receive the Dragonborn Force ability, making your Unrelenting Force shout even more powerful and has a chance to disintigrate enemies.

Filament and Filgree: Through the knowledge of the second of the six Black Books, you will elect to receive the Secret Of Strength power, making all power attacks cost nothing for 30 seconds.

The Hidden Twilight: Through the knowledge of the third of the six Black Books, you will elect to receive the Mora's Boon power, restoring your magicka, health & stamina by 1000 each.

The Sallow Regent: Through the knowledge of the fourth of the six Black Books, you will elect to receive the Seeker of Sorcery ability permanently making all your magic skills 10% more effective.

The Winds of Change: Through the knowledge of the fifth of the six Black Books, you will elect to receive the Companion's Insight ability, making all your attacks, spells and shouts do no damage to your allies.

Untold Legends: Through the knowledge of the sixth and final Black Book, you will elect to receive the Bardic Knowledge power, granting you 50% Stamina regeneration for 300 seconds for you and your allies.

I'll have another build ready by Saturday. It will be a Skyrim version of my most favorite custom Obivion build: The Priestess. Here is a link to the original build if youre interested in seeing. https://tamrielvault.com/groups/topic/view/group_id/11/topic_id/9325

    Hey CriminalScum..sorry, that's MR CriminalScum :P

I'm actually really fond of the way you've presented this build, the shorter style and focus on the reasoning behind the quests makes a very simple and succint build that gets straight to the point and covers just about everything. What I do think this build is missing however, is a decent gameplay section that covers how combat works in more depth. It's probably the only area that I think could use some more depth, because I really enjoyed everything else.

EDIT 1 - Oh and the title needs to be Character Build: The Squire not Skyrim Build. An if your aiming to use tags, I'd recommend checking out the Archives and using the official tags so it can be found in the archives later on.

EDIT 2 - And I've featured this over on the Official Tamriel Vault Twitter Account, thought I'd let you know :D

    Dragonborn1921,

I made all the necessary edits. Added in the gameplay, changed the tags and renamed the build title to Character Build. Anything else?

I like this build, but I feel like it would be twice as amazing if it were called “The Soccer Mom”.
