Sword-O-Mancy will have to become a thing if that goes live.

There have been a lot of events concerning single-faction builds. Maybe toss in one that focuses on two factions above all, with emphasis on them being interesting? Like a monster-slaying character who is a member of the Companions and the Dawnguard? A shaman of both the College of Winterhold and the Skaal? A charismatic rogue heading both the Nightingales and the Blades? One of the College of Whispers joining the ranks of the Volkihar? Seems like it could be fun and versatile.

Good thing that Mercurius didn't propose an idea that wants me to completely change this year's line-up of Events, very good indeed :P

That's a freaking great idea Mer, we move on from creating events based off of single factions/characters and so on and move into the territory of encouraging (or forcing :P) the idea of combining them. I mean, that's just a really cool idea for an Event and I'm seriously considering the idea of moving it into my first slot for the year.

Also...Sword-O-Mancy is the only real type of magic that should be allowed :P All others are simply pale imitations of the sheer awesomeness that is anything that combines sword and magic :D

Some more updates tonight. Added some Roleplaying and Tips and Tricks discussions to the Welcome Thread while also giving a few discussions the 'Crucial Discussion tag' which is...well for all important discussions just to make it a bit easier to jump from one to the other :)

Some more work that needs to be done around the place. I would like some thoughts on something (and if I don't get a huge response I'll give it a unique discussion) but what does everyone think about creating a new Help Desk? We've had the old one for ages and it's getting rather bloated, starting up a 2018 Help Desk might help out, but wanted to get feedback on it.

By the way, the old one would still be archived, just closed and with a link to the new one thrown in, but there's a tonne of good discussion in there that I'd never shut down. Just thought it might be nice to match the BR, Suggestion Box, Archives...everything else really :)

A new help desk would be fantastic

Right, I haven't been doing much lately (at least nothing new) and just sort of focusing on the Flash Event

But recently, I have started a discussion regarding my planned changes to the New Help Desk, as well as just using that as a place to (hopefully) get some feedback on the ideas. Afterall, what I find useful might not translate to others, not entirely sure, so any feedback (even if it's a 'shit idea' or 'cool idea') is really useful.

That's pretty much it. New Poll, Flash Event running, Old Orc won the old one. Yeah just focusing on content lately and not on revamping, which I think has been going pretty well.

How about the next Flash Event be based on "Jobs" like chef or the like
  • January 18, 2018

Ah, well it'd have to be a singular job because using 'jobs' as an entire theme is way too much, but I'm aiming to stick to just a single theme. The only reason this one had three themes is to play off AMOSS, so in general, I'm going to be sticking to a lot more limited themes. Well not entirely, I mean the theme 'Chef' is a lot more limiting than the 'College of Winterhold' theme in my opinion, so I'm going to stick with things closer to the second (and also occasionally adding in a second theme).

But I do like the general idea of 'jobs' and I might see if there's a way I can convert it easily to the Flash Event. Maybe something like 'Common Folk' could be a way to pull it off without being super limiting, dunno.

    Common Folks could work

Could call it “Elevated Origins” and require a build begin with a mundane job (hunter, town guard, blacksmith) and then run so hard with that specific theme that it becomes a focused, fun playthrough (e.g., hunter ends up a specialized monster slayer, town guard ends up a thane who patrols to keep the peace in all of Skyrim, blacksmith’s steel armor and weapons are more powerful than baseline dragonbone).

Oooh! “Legends in their Field” would be a better title.
