    So a quick update:

At around level 18 or so. Because I don't have Hearthfire, I've decided to move into Broken Oar Grotto (which, according to UESP, doesn't respawn and so all containers are considered  safe) as a kind of home base. It's actually a pretty sweet set up (wish I had a place like that in real life xD), but perhaps the most important feature is the 4 underwater chests--I've been using them to hoard magical items in order to keep them out of the hands of the smug and sanctimonious mages.

Chest #1: soul gems. This has been a no-enchanting-at-ALL build for me (extremely rare), but I figure if I can't do it, then no one else should be able to either.

Chest #2: spell tomes. I pick up EVERY tome I come across... even if I already know the spell. The tomes get dumped into chest #2, and the mages of Skyrim can spin their wheels looking for all the knowledge I've got stored up in the comfort of my own home.

Chest #3--staves. If it's a long stick that shoots stuff, I keep it and shove it into chest #3. Magic sticks are for sissies (just a really big wand for wizards trying to overcompensate for their own personal inadequacies as a mage).

Chest #4--apparel that boosts magical abilities. If it fortifies some sort of magical aspect, it goes into Chest #4 (the captain's chest). Those mages aren't so great without their special clothes and jewelry. Speaking of jewelry, any jewelry I craft goes into chest #4 as well, and I craft a LOT of jewelry. Here's why:

I've been purchasing soul gems, spell tombs, scrolls, magical artifacts--ANYTHING that I feel magicians would like to get their hands on--and dumping them into the chests. I wanted to actually have a use for the Telekinesis spell, and this is kind of a spitefully fun use for it. Anything purchased goes into the chests, and is NOT used personally by me. I also limit these purchasing forays to non-magic-y city vendors. I won't deal or associate with mages... they don't get a single septim from this guy.

It's been a lot of fun. If I ever try a DID build, I might pick this one up and play a kind of he-who-dies-with-the-most-magic-stuff-wins game. Someone hundreds of years from now is going to stumble on the magical find of the era ;D

Better late than never. This build is cool! I like the concept and story. It has more of a common more down to earth ring to it. More appropriate for everyday people wanting to learn magic the lard ass, hard ass way. Now that I think about it. Most of the spells I use are founded as well in most of my playthroughs. Its rare that I shop for spells. Logically speaking if you have all these wizards selling apprentice level spells and up to anyone and everyone, wouldn't it make sense for more people to have them even the common, everyday folk? I'm no roleplaying junkie like alot of people are but I do believe that some things need to be naturally connected like eating and sleeping. Very good read.

All images have been restored for this build. While I try my best to keep the formatting as close to the original as possible, there are some unavoidable differences as a result of differing platforms... for this I apologize.

Also, please feel free to remove the 'Restored' banner at the end of the build--I put it there as a courtesy to let the reader know that the build has been worked on by somebody other than its original creator without his or her knowlege.

I'm glad I got around to this one :D

This is a good build. There is a mod called Hedge Mage Armor which has intrigued me for a while. Although it is light armour I see it won't interfere with any perks. I may test it out now I have a build to fit it.

Shin, I wonder if that Wrathman and Firenach book image could do with being clicky?

    Yes, it could.

How does one go about making an image clicky?

Highlight the image and then use the link button to make it a link to the original image. For best results link to a version of the image that is bigger then the one in the discussion.
