My first build. This is honestly a very basic build, but I gotta start somewhere.

There once was a child in Imperial City. He loved his mother. Her name was Katria, and she was a very kind alchemist. His father, Lucius, was abusive. On normal days, Katria would use her potions to heal her bruises. One day, however, things got out of hand. Lucius took a kitchen knife and stabbed Katria in the chest. Horrified, you run to your dying mother and press your hands to her chest. To your amazement, your hands heal your mother. In frustration, your father jabbed the knife at you. You were always light on your feet, so you simply dodged his thrust. Once again you do something miraculous—you disarm him and jab him in the heart. Katria, knowing you saved her life, takes you to Skyrim where you join the College of Winterhold. While you are here, you write letters to Katria. After a year, Katria stopped responding to your letters. In a fit of extreme worry, you return to Imperial City, where you learn that a plague had fallen upon the city. Your mother had used her alchemical skills to try and cure people. She saved many lives, but lost her own. In your rage, you scream to the skies and  vengeance upon the Daedric Lords. Suddenly, lightning shoots out of the sky and into the palm of your hand. You are able to control this energy for it does not harm you. You travel back to Skyrim when hearing of a mysterious group of Vampire hunters: The Dawnguard, As you cross the border you are mistaken for a Stormcloak Soldier and captured. You fall into a deep sleep. In your dreams, Akatosh visits you. He tells you that your realm is in danger. He tells you to rise to the challenge and defeat his son. You are unsure what he means by this, but you soon find out as his son burns down Helgen...

The Champion of Akatosh uses the sword, spell, and bottle to best any foe

This is a basic, straightforward build. You charge into combat wielding sword and spell. You use Lightning to smite your foes and Restoration to heal your allies. When facing powerful undead (or swarms of enemies), use Auriel's bow to smite them. You where Ancient Falmer Armor and swing an Elven Sword (better roleplay, not as powerful as dragonscale but you follow Auriel)

Lover Stone (Leveling Boosts); Then Atronoch and Lord Stones with A Crown (use Fortify Restoration potions to get Atronoch Stone up to 80% Absorption. With the Lord Stone you have 85% Magic Resist and you still have 20% regen. The additional 80 Magicka helps)

    1 Magicka 2 Health 1 Stamina

    Major Skills:

    -       Light Armor- Light armor allows you to stay light on your feet. It allows a good amount of carry weight early on and armor rating gets higher as you level. Good to take hits.

    -       One Handed- Primary method of damage dealing. This gets powerful with experience. Use power attacks to stagger enemies.

    -       Restoration- Pretty straightforward. Use Healing spells to heal self and followers. Use turn undead spells to send the undead running

    -       Destruction- Primary form of ranged damage. Cast from left hand when facing enemies. Large magicka pool necessary

    Minor Skills:

    -       Archery- Back-up ranged damage. Use this when facing a charging enemy or faraway archers. Also useful against dragons. Use slow time in conjunction with this.

    -       Smithing- Needed to craft your sword. Also good to improve weapons and armor here.

    -       Alchemy- Potions make up for the lack of enchanting. Use potions to boost your combat skills. Avoid poisons though, sickness and disease are against everything you believe in and you will not stand for using them.

    -       Speech- Akotosh's Champion is a charismatic person. He is very kind, but not afraid to intimidate those who support the corruption he is sent to purge.

Combat is fairly simple. You just use all your resources to defeat your enemy based on what they are.

Warriors-- Suppose you are fighting a bandit chief or a tougher boss such as Haknir Death-Brand or maybe a giant. Follow this and you should dominate all foes. Use Elemental Fury and swing your sword until they drop. Heal as necessary but don't use Destruction since you won't have fast Magicka Regen. Shoot with bow if they are charging you.

-Mages-- During the College of Winterhold quest, you have many opportunities to fight powerful mages. These shall prove difficult, but only at first. Suppose you are fighting The Caller or eventually Miraak. You need a good battle strategy.  Use this as an opportunity to use magic. Electrocute the crap out of them and slice 'em up.

-Archers-- Drauger Deathlords with bows are over powered in Skyrim. They deal ridiculous amounts of damage. These can be a pain when purging Nordic Ruins of their evil. Use slow time and out-shoot them.

-Dragons-- It happens. Dragons fly out of nowhere and attack you. Sometimes, they are bosses that you anticipate, such as Alduin. These fights usually take all of your skills. Shout them out of the sky and unleash hell with all combat skills. I typically drink potions, shoot them a couple times, and slash as I alternate between Destruction and Restoration.

Outfit: Ancient Falmer Armor(looks good on  Akatosh's Champion, lacks helmet so you use the Aetherial Crown); Aetherial Crown (Extra Standing Stone, looks cool); Amulet of Akatosh (good for Akatosh's Champion, plus Magicka Regen) Use any ring. I personally recommend one with a good Magicka regen enchantment. This isn't necessary, as you still have 20% and restoration adds 50%, but helps. Just don't get the Ring of Erudite, vampirism isn't an option--even temporarily.

Weapons: Elven Sword (unenchanted), Auriel's Bow (with sunhallowed arrows--the bows charge runs out quickly and these arrows are extremely devastating, making up for the lack of charge)

Spells: Powerful Healing, Heal Other Spells, and Turn Undead. Grand Healing is perfect for high levels. Powerful Lightning Spells (up to expert, including cloak and rune)

Shouts: Elemental Fury, Unrelenting Force, Whirlwind Sprint, Cyclone, Dragon Aspect, Slow Time, Dragonrend

    Moves

Bane of the Undead- Use Auriel's Bow to kill undead as they flee; Most effective against Undead

Requires: Spellsword Elixer, Turn Undead Spell, Auriels Might, Slow Time, Auriels Bow + Sunhallowed Arrows

Mages Folly- Use your powers to take out those pesky mages before they kill your follower; Most effective against (you guessed it)Mages

Requires: Battlemage Elixer, Lightning Cloak, Lightning Rune, Thunderbolt

Dragon Slayer- Command Dragon to meet you on the ground; Most effective against (these are so predictable) dragons

Requires: Dragonrend, Battlemage Elixer, Battle Potion, Thunderbolt, Elven Sword

Dance Fool- Slice enemy to death; Most effective when facing Warriors

Requires- Battle Potion, Elemental Fury, Elven Sword

Potions make up for the lack of Enchanting. You never poison, but you make potions to boost your powers, turning the tide of battle.

Battle Potion: Fortify One-Handed and Fortify Light Armor

----Hawk Feathers, Ash Hopper Jelly, and Bear Claws----

Spellsword Elixer: Fortify One Handed and Fortify Restoration

----Small Pearl, Salt Pile, and Hanging Moss----

Battlemage Elixer: Fortify Light Armor and Fortify Destruction

----Beehive Husk, Skeever Tail, and Glowing Mushroom----

    Auriel's Might: Fortify Archery

    ----Canis Root and Juniper Berries----

Aid your Imperial Brethren and smite all Stormcloak scum

Hire Stenvar so he can take hits for you. (Vilkas is better but fuck Hircine). Get Mjoll the Lioness ASAP, because she's invincible. Serana is also invincible, and if you really want her you need to cure her vampirism and give her elven armor.

Dawnguard (hunter path), Certain *Daedric Artifact quests (Azura's Star and Skull of Corruption) choose the path that destroys the skull and disconnects the star from Azura (go out of your way to destroy Daedra)), Civil War (Imperial), Main Quest (Destroy the corruption that is Alduin)

*the reason to do these are because these Daedric artifacts can be either destroyed or altered from it's path. You are not aiding the Daedra. With the Black Star you are interested in personal gain. By destroying the Skull of Corruption, you successfully help a priest of Mara find redemption

Buy Proudspire Manor (house in solitude, most expensive—Imperial Luck will come in handy here). Marry Camilla Valerius (Imperial woman who can be obtained via The Golden Claw). Adopt children whose parents died serving the Imperial Army. Just do everything Imperial.

Your mother died of disease, and you don't want that to happen to anyone, so drop random cure disease potions everywhere. Wear an Amulet of Akatosh--you're his champion. Your mother was a kind woman and was always nice to everyone, so always give to beggars and orphans--even orphans whose parents were Stormcloaks. Heal Allies in fights--you're a healer lol. Never run from spooky scary skeletons, make the undead flee with turn undead(with Auriel's bow you are fearless)! Pray at all shrines, but mostly pray at Shrines to Akatosh/Auriel--you love the Divines as your mother did. Pray regularly--blessings (use various blessings). Get Auriel's Bow--undead shreking. Visit the chantry often and walk the Pilgrims Path (Dawnguard DLC, not Thieves Guild) often--be closely connected to Auriel. Kill all Falmer you see--the once proud followers of Auriel have forsaken him. Leave no undead in their undead state--you believe it is a torture to live in undeath. Be indifferent about Nords, but accept them as followers (they take hits for you, so why not). Be friendly to all Elven Races--at least those that aren't twisted

Perk Spreadsheet & Equipment Spreadsheet credit to Relycs

Relycs has been giving me pointers for this build since I first put it on The Workshop. I wouldn't have gotten very far without his helpful advice. Thank you Relycs

That's about it folks. This is a really easy build to play. If you have better potion recipes, please tell them.  Thanks for the help, hope you enjoyed.

Good job for a first build, but you need to fix your tags, you can have three class tags, a rank tag, in this case "Rank:Bloodworks", and a race tag, in this case "Race:Imperial". For tnstance, and obvious tag for this would be "Character Build Spellsword"

Congrats on releasing your first build! It is very simple and straightforward; a build anyone can get into. Perfect skill and equipment choices all around. ( Make sure though, that even though Shock is your main element for destruction, you have another element as a back up. This is a dilemma that most builds who use magic have )

One question is - At the top you mention that this character is rejected my the Mage Guild. . . Is this guild from Cyrodill or at Skyrim being the CoW? I ask as I have a little difficulty putting your backstory together. Alot of ways that this kind of setup can be taken.

Excellent build you have my like. That's for sure.

Well, the Cyrodill guild was disbaned shortly after the Oblivion Crisis if I recall

  • January 21, 2016

Thanks for pointing that out. I only used shock spells from the destruction skill and whenever I faced something like a storm atronach I just used healing. I don't particularly like the destruction tree and didn't want to invest too many points into it.

I know it's good to have a backup plan, but Auriel's Bow will kill basically anything. Those Sunhallowed Arrows have splodey damage and wreck stuff.

If I remember right, the tags of all your builds need to be fixed as well :D.

Now that's a good backup plan! I'm crazy about that bow. Sunhallowed Arrows - The Holy Judgment of Skyrim! I'm glad you're aware.
