Hello everypony, to Crossworlds 2.0! With that in mind, I have the pleasure of welcoming you to...

    An Ashen Theme #1

    An Ashen Theme #2

Once, it is said, there was an Ayleid sorcerer-king of great power. Unlike this brethren, he believed fire was not an imperfect light, but the concentrated rage of light, burning away the unclean, and in time, believed himself an avatar of Auriel. He gained many loyal followers, most of all his stalwart knights.  For these perceived blasphemies, his fellow kings laid siege on his keep. He and his men fought bravely, but alas, what had once been his city, became his funeral pyre, or so they thought. From the ashes, where once there was a Lord of Flame, but now, there is only....

    A Lord of Ashes.

I just love the seemingly unthinkable combo of insane speed, alongside mix and matched  armor, and a heavy-hitting two hander. Combine that with an Ayleid anti/fallen hero, using lightning/flame magic, and you got the full package.

Race: Altmer Vampire Lord. Not only are Altmer the tallest, making them look rather imposing clad in heavy armor, as well as increasing movement speed and melee damage, but they gain bonuses to Conjuration, Destruction, Alteration, and Enchanting. Plus, increased Magicka and Regen via Highborn helps. Give him long, unkempt hair and beard, grey, all black eyes, and a sunken in face.

Standing Stone: The Warrior or Mage to start off, then swap out to the Lord, for increased physical and magical resistance.

Stat Spread: We’ll want almost equal 1/2/2 in Magicka, Health, and Stamina.

Major Skills: Two-Handed, Destruction, Enchanting, Restoration

    Minor Skills: Smithing

    SKILLS

    Level52PerkSpreadforChrisDiokno.jpg

Enchanting-With our mismatched armor, enchanting will help us compensate and survive, especially on higher difficulties.

Two-Handed-With a longer reach and (mostly) higher starting damage than one-handers, a greatsword will get us through the armor, to cleave through our foes like a chainsaw through butter! I know certain two-handed fans will love this skill.

Smithing-With only two perks taken, this will allow our relatively low level gear to keep us on par at later levels.

Speech-What good former king isn’t able to get his way via a silver tongue? Quite useful as an all around skill, especially selling for training.

Destruction-The first half of our elemental damage. Combining the afterburn effects of flame spells, with a little magic damage from shock, you’ll be toasting enemies from afar like marshmallows.

Restoration-Allowing us to deal damage to our fellow undead with sun spells, as well as healing both you and your followers, this skill saved my hide several times over.

    Equipment

Faebrann-This mysterious blade of Dwemer design was given as a coronation present by one of the Deepfolk friends he once possessed. Its name roughly translates to Soulbrandt, or Soul Brand. Fiery Soul Trap (Dwarven Greatsword

Aira Velca-The sacred crown of the Lord of Ashes was plundered from the ruins of his kingdom by the Nords, where they christened it their Jagged Crown. Fortify Destruction (Jagged Crown)

Crithos Telme Cin-The blood red ruby of this silver ring is said to contain the soul of a Fire Atronach, as the legend says.-Fortify Healing Rate (Silver Ruby Ring)

Fea Nare-This ember dusted necklace has been said in song to contain a portion of the mystic flames that ravaged the kingdom of the Lord of Ashes.Golden Ruby Necklace (Resist Magic)

Miraak’s Robes-The ceremonial robes of the Lord of Ashes were said to have been a gift to him by Hermaeus Mora, who her worshipped in secret.

Narbrannon Mantele-This pair of bracers, crafted by the Lord of Ashes after one successful hunting trip, are said to increase martial prowess. Scaled Bracers (Fortify Two Handed)

Sunna Molag-These scorched iron boots, representative of the Lord of Ash’s priority of function over fashion, were said to be able to make one capable of running for leagues without tiring. Iron Boots (Fortify Stamina Regen)

    GAMEPLAY

Once you are given the choice, run into Helgen Keep with Ralof. What you’ll want from here is the Novice Robes you can grab from the dead mage prisoner, Imperial Light Bracers, Imperial Boots, and the Iron Helmet you find close to the exit.

On with combat. Your main attacks should generally start at a distance. For mages and dragons, use of lightning based spells, such as Thunderbolt or Chain Lightning, with some fire spells tossed in for Frost Dragons, you’ll quickly drain their Magicka reserves. This will cause dragons to land if you keep it up, and force mages that aren’t outright vaporized by your electrical assault, they’ll swap out for a low damage dagger. At this point, swap out to the highest damage greatsword in your arsenal.

Your greatsword will be your main form of offense against those ornery meleeing motherbuckers, such as Bandit Chiefs, or Giants. Simply toss on a Flame Cloak for a little DOT damage, then keep circling your enemy. Slash them as you circle around.

I recommend not enchanting your Dwarven Greatsword till later on, when you feel you have enchanting at a comfortable level, like 50 or 60. Before then, if you possess the Dragonborn DLC, I recommend sailing to Solstheim, and grabbing Stormfang at Brodir Grove. You may find the Fiery Soul Trap Enchantment in ironbine Burrow.

With the Jagged Crown, it is possible, for those who have not done this, to keep it after turning in the Quest. You MUST do the Jagged Crown quest for whoever you followed in Helgen, in this case, Ralof. Save first, and then, you can reverse pick-pocket the Crown on him. It may say 0% for a chance to pickpocket, but you can place it into his inventory. Once you do so, I chose to betray the Stormcloaks, and join up with the Empire. You can find Ralof in Gerdur’s home, where you can retrieve the Crown by pickpocketing it from him.

Outside of Proudspire Manor, I chose to live in the Thalmor Headquarters within Solitude. Aiding Ondelomar in Markarth allows you to sleep in and live there without trespassing.

TACTICS OF THE LORD OF ASHES

Meridian Spear-Calling forth the blessing of Meridia, the Lord of Ashes summons forth a mighty bolt of divine energy, huriling it at his foes.

    (Potion of Fortify Destruction+Dual-Casting+Impact+Chain Lightning)

The Eternal Flame-Tapping into the primordial flame of creation that burns within every living being, the Lord of Ashes takes on a terrifying, scorching visage.

(Potion of Fortify Destruction+Dual-Casting+Flame Cloak+Dragon Aspect+Great Critical Charge)

    ROLEPLAYING AN ASHEN LORD

Set fire (Flames Spell), to all Shrines of Talos, Stendarr, and Arkay, for they are all aberrations to a pantheon holding Mer deities.

    • Toss any Amulets of the aforementioned trio into the nearest body of water, or into a burning brazier.

    • Read any books you come across, mostly pertaining to those of history, and of battles. You’ve been unaware of the past few centuries as you regained your sanity, you need all the information you can get.

    • Never pray at any Mannish shrines, such as those of Talos, or any of the Reclamation Shrines in Raven Rock.

    INSPIRATION AND THANKS

Now then, for those of you who haven’t noticed yet, I based this build off of the final boss and Lord of Sunlight/Cinder from FromSoftware’s Dark Souls 1. After dying to this badass, I finally managed to cheese him using the two handed stunlocking power of a Black Knight Sword, combinded with Havel’s Set.

Thanks to Lee Friskilis for the awesome perk spread, as well as to Mirric the Loremonger for the phenomenal screenshot. As for my last two Event Buils, well, let’s just say, prepare to feel some musical mayhem!

Heh, no Overseer Dareloth, I just do these when I have free time on my hands. Plus, I've played this build a few times before this Event even came about
