“Born in Cyrodiil, the heartland of the empire,  and raised by a very religious family in the city of Leyawiin, Lyra grew up helping people in dire need and praising the Divines for help.20  years have passed,  already an adult and capable of making a life on her own, Lyra decided to travel to Skyrim to assist the citizens of the snowy wasteland, by praying in their chapels and helping the deceased.

But before she departed to Skyrim, her family wanted to speak to her about something important. They were the last remaining acolytes of the Alessian Order, but there was something else even more surprising than that…they descended from Alessia herself…

Lyra was amazed by the revelation, because she already knew the legends of Al-Esh, but to even have something to do with them was…amazing! But the main reason her family told it to her was that…the Alessian Order, was subject to extermination along time ago and it could be dangerous if someone found out about her true origins…

But she travelled to Skyrim nevertheless. However, Lyra was caught traversing the border and got arrested to be executed later, for no apparent reasons…or something else?"

Race:  Imperial (for roleplay purposes) or Breton (for the magic resistances)

    •  Major Skills- Restoration, Destruction and Alteration and Enchanting.
    •  Minor Skills- Sneak, Alchemy and Speech.
    •  Stone- Atronach Stone

"Nibeneans have an Akaviri and, to a lesser degree, elven heritage. They have a greater appreciation for magic, art, commerce, and spirituality, in spite of being staunchly loyal to Alessian traditions"

    Equipment:

    • Head: Circlet (Fortify Magicka Regen / Fortify Destruction)

    • Torso: Miraak’s Robes

    • Arms: Miraak’s Gloves

    • Feet: Miraak’s Boots

Although this set-up is quite simple, it's actually one of the key points to the build.

Miraak's Robes adds 15 points of Spell Absortiona and the corresponding gloves and boots add  5 points of Spell Absortion each. Let's do some math here:  15+5+5= 25% Spell Absortion.

But there are two more things to take into account, which are: The atronach Perk, that adds 30 points of Spell absortion, and the Atronach Standing Stone Bonus that grants 50 points. So: 15+5+5+30+50= 105% Spell Absortion!

With this set-up, you'll gain total Magic immunity! But not just magic...you will also absorb "Shouts, poisons, diseases, weapon enchantments, various debuffs, etc. However if the effect had no associated Magicka cost you will not gain any Magicka from it"- UESP Wiki

You can also use the monk robes and boots ( I'll talk about them later), which also fit the role-play very well, if you don't have the DLC. If you already noticed, all my pictures show the build with these robes, simply because I don't like to make a build that relies on DLC stuff a lot. As for gauntlets, choose what best fits you.  If you don't have the DLC, dont worry! Continue reading and you'll see that Miraak's robes aren't that "essential" to the build.

    Spells:

    • Restoration School -> Grand Healing, Circle of Protection, Bane of the Undead, Grand Circle, Healing Hands.

    • Destruction School -> Lightning Bolt/ Thunderbolt, Wall of Storms, Lightning Cloak.

    • Alteration School -> Ebony Flesh.

"Unleashing the wrath of the divines"

It will be all about this: Lightning Bolt. Your bread and butter. The spell you want to use most often against...everyone, until you get the most advanced version (Thunderbolt). Lightning Bolt  has a relatively low magicka cost, deals a good amount of damage to  both health and magicka and it's quick to cast. Mixed with Lightning Cloak, your opponents will tremble upon such massive destruction! They can't come close to you nor can they run away.

Wall of Storms will be used to create "barriers" of Lightning on the ground when you are fighting in small rooms. Your opponent will walk towards the Lightning and, most likely, stay there frying to death.

If you need to heal, sometimes due to an unexpected hit or a trap, you can cast Grand Healing which restores a massive portion of your Health Points, or Grand Circle if you expect some undead enemies to come to you if you got detected. Healing Hands for healing followers, until you get Grand Healing which will heal you both. Now, last but not least, Circle of protection. This spell will create a holy ward that undead enemies can't enter, making it useful when dealing with many undead. Bane of the Undead will mostly be used in a special attack which I'll show you in a moment.

What you basically need to know is the following: these will be your main forms of offense, as well as defense. Your Spell Absortion capability will keep you "recharged" the entire combat if your opponent is a caster. If not, then I'll explain what you need to do more ahead.

    Powers:

    •  Waters of Life, Agent of Dibella, Agent of Mara, Companion’s Insight, Eternal spirit, Seeker of Sorcery, Mora’s Grasp, Secret of Arcana.

At the end of the Pilgrimage, you'll already have both Agent of Dibella and Agent of Mara. The rest of the powers are not needed as much as the ones I mentioned before. You can get the "Companion's Insight", "Seeker of Sorcery", "Mora's Grasp" and "Secret of Arcana" by completing the challenge of the Black books  from the Dragonborn DLC. "Waters of life" can be get at the Water Stone (also in the DB DLC) and "Eternal Spirit" can be get by meditating with Paarthurnax (Vanilla game).

    Useful things to know:

    • With the Recovery Perk 2/2 from the Restoration tree, you will negate the 50% slower magicka regeneration penalty from the Atronach Stone. Pretty useful.

    • You won’t benefit from the Necromage perk like usual (being a Vampire) , but you’ll benefit instead by getting the bonus that comes with it: “All spells are more effective against undead. (+25% effect and +50% effect duration)”. This will help you face the strongest type of Undead at higher levels.

    • Avoid Death will heal you automatically when your Health is bellow 10 %, making it usefull to survive tough encounters.

    • With the extra effect perk, you'll want to enchant a necklace, a ring and a circlet with two custom enchantments. I recommend "Fortify Magicka Rate" for encounters with non-casters.

    Special Attacks-

    • Divine Circle of the Saint- (Guardian Circle + Wall of Storms + Bane of the undead):

“The divines bless you with a magical shield that wards off evil, as you spray the ground with Lightning and explode your unholy enemies to Oblivion”

    •  Holy Ancestral Spirit- (Lightning Cloak + Become Ethereal + Thunderbolt):

“Alessia takes over your body, making your blood boill with Shock and summons a strike of Lightning toward your foe.”

    Tactics:

         Spell Casters:

I never had such a good time dealing with anoying mages and other types of spell casters like never before! Believe me, you will be their worst nightmare. They can't damage you even if that's the last thing they'll do. Which is true. You don't have to worry about them anymore. So...ummm...wre#k them.

        Melee Fighters:

Well, they will be harder to face, of course. Which I admit, is the only weakness to the build. But they're not too much of a problem if you can turn them to ashes before they can even get to you. I'll explain to you why: if you don't have the Dragonborn DLC, or simply don't want to use Miraak's set, then you can use the Monk robes and the corresponding boots to enchant them with the "Fortify Magicka Rate" enchantment I mentioned before, and you will not need the the Spell Absortion at all. You can "spam" your bolts and you'll be good.Although you will still take damage from casters.

So, against Melee fighters, you want to have the "surprise factor". You'll want to see them, before they can see you, so be sneaky! Once you've found one, back off as much as you can (remember: you still need to be "in range" for your spells to actually reach them, so don't go to far!) and start firing your Lightning spells at them. They will try to come close to you, but before they can even swing their weapon, they'll be already dead. Do this and you'll be fine.

If there are multiple melee opponents coming to you at once, do the same as before, but, this time, equip your Chain Lightning spell which, when fired, will track multiple enemies (up to three I think). But be careful! Chain Lightning costs more magicka then Lightning Bolt, therefore, always watch your magicka bar!

                                        Lore

For those of you who got here, congratulations. You trully are a patient reader.

Not many people realize, at least I didn’t until a few days ago, that, in Cyrodiil, there are 2 very different subcultures. Namely, the Colovians and the Nibeneans. There is a thread that explains this two factions in a very detailed manner and, if you are interested in this kind of things, it’s very worth to check out:

    http://tamrielvault.com/group/lore/forum/topics/the-imperial-divide-colovian-and-nibenese

To sum it up, The Nibeneans are the more “cultured” faction of the two and follow the Alessian traditions to heart. Lyra's family were Nibeneans. As such, they were devout worshippers of Alessia and were part of her long forgotten order.

If you want to take role-play to the next level, then try to "copy" a Nibenean lifestyle. I suggest you give a read to the thread I linked above, for it's a very solid demonstration of what an average Nibenean is.

    Quests-

There is something I call “ The Pilgrimage”. During this pilgrimage, you are tasked of doing quests somewhat related to the Divines. For each god, you’ll have to do one or two quests on their favor. For example:

Arkay- “The man who cried wolf” and “The Wolf Queen Awakened” are two examples of quests that are related to killing Necromancers and the Undead…Arkay’s truest enemies.

Dibella- “The Heart of Dibella” is obviously a MUST do quest. But beware of the quest “Caught Red Handed”, as much like it seems to be a Dibella related quest (and it is), it actually doesn’t end in her favor. Mostly because you are messing with a worshipper of Dibella and you are stopping her to devoutly worship theGoddess.

Julianos- There are several quests which you could do like…delivering a book to someone or even going to the College of Winterhold (You shouldn’t enter the College before you end the Pilgrimage), but there’s one I think it fits very well to Julianos: Killing Nimhe. Well, Nimhe is a spider that it’s preventing further investigation of a dwemer ruin beneath Markharth, so I think that if you kill it, you are “promoting” the discovery of Dwemer culture. Julianos is the God of Wisdom and Logic so I think you already know why.

Kynareth- One of the most obvious Kynareth’s related quest is “The Blessings of Nature” so you should do that.

Mara- Once more, there’s are no quests more evident than “The Book of Love”, “Bonds of Matrimony” and “Spread the Love”.

Stendarr- This one is a bit tricky…I guess you could do the Dawnguard questline, but it would take a lot of time and distract you from the Pilgrimage itself so…I did a bit of cheating and invented a quest. Go to Stendarr’s Beacon and “speak” with one of the Vigilants. Then pretend he gave you the quest to go to Mara’s eye pond to rescue a fellow Vigilant who  has been captured by vampires. You’ll then find  the Vigilant dead and you return to the Beacon to report.

Zenithar- This one is easy. Zenithar is the patron of Merchants, so speak with the ones in Riften or any other place and complete their quest.

Talos- One quest you could do is “Missing in action”, where you rescue a Talos supporter from the hands of the Thalmor.  But there’s more… as Alessia was once slave to the Ayeleids, you will also “revive” the experience to rebel against your captives, the elves.

Akatosh- The reason I didn’t brought up this earlier was that, Akatosh, will be your last divine to praise in order to complete your Pilgrimage. Why? Remember, you are a descendedent from St. Alessia, who was gifted the power of the Dragonborn many years ago by Akatosh himself. What you should do is “part” of the main questline. When I say “part” I mean until you are given access to the Dragonborn DLC. You’ll have trained with the Greybeards, killed, at least, one dragon and “unlocked” the power given by Akatosh to your ancestor and, therefore, you.

“Thus the Pilgrimage is complete and the gods, granting you good-fortune and guidance trough your Journey, bless you.”

Other quests you could do: finish the Main Questline, College of Winterhold and Dawnguard.

    "The Song-Never-Sung-at-Twilight":

"That is not cruel which cures,

    O faith, charity, rigor.

    By faith true heart endures,

    O hope, clarity, vigor.

    Seventy-Seven shall guide us,

    O praise, honor, and duty.

    Alessia lives inside us,

And truth is one with beauty."

So this was my first build and I hope it's interesting and fun to play with as it was for me. After weeks of planning and preparation, I can say it was worth it. It has been a long time since I wanted to post a Character build, I have atleast 3 more Characters Builds that I have done before, which I intend to upload them sooner or later. Until then, thanks for reading .

I was pretty anxious to post this build...

First off, welcome to CB. I can tell from the effort you've put into this that you'll love it here.

Secondly, that's a fan-fucking-tastic first build. Great presentation, better than a lot of veterans, and I love the archtype of a Speech-taking mage. I'm not crazy about the Alessian lore, but the Nine Divines and their pilgrimage is always a great way to expand on a holy build. I like the Spell Absorb/Restoration Circle spells combo and it's interesting to see it used pretty much as a sort of "divine act". Pretty neat.

    Thank you so much!

I really apreciate the compliments. I'm glad you noticed the effort I've put into this build, I've been working on it for weeks! I liked the Alessian connection to the Divines and wanted to illustrate it into the build as much as I could, and this was the result. Thanks again!

    Thank you ;)

Now I'm looking to these "event builds" popping up in the front page, and I wonder, since the event is about Deities, could I change my build to be an " Event Build"? It almost seems coincindence that my build actually qualifies to be an event build... Which I didn't even realized it existed until a few moments ago...
