    The Enlightened Monk

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr4gPS0gpdE

(Music for the build, ignore it if you so desire, shame on you though)

Race: Nord (Make him bald and muscular with an epic beard)

Stats: 2-5-3 Magicka-Health-Stamina. Magicka is needed for Flesh spells, Health to survive hits and Stamina to bash and power attack. Put points in Magicka until you reach 200 Magicka, and divide up between Health and Stamina.

    Stones: Warrior, later the Lord.

    Apparel:

Before the Civil War questline: Monk Robe, Monk Boots, Circlet of Magicka, Gloves.

During the Civil War questline: Imperial Heavy Armor.

Weapons: Skyforged Steel Battle Axe, Stahrim Battle Axe.

Shout: Unrelenting Force (Meditated), Become Ethereal, Dragonrend, Whirlwind Sprint, Slow Time.

    Skills:

Two Handed: Since he was 8, his father has trained him how to use an axe in battle and he has never stopped honing his skills with it. He was the whirlwind of death in the battlefield. His axe is his symbol of justice, his anger to those he deemed foul and unjust, and his devotion to all the good people in this world. For life to thrive, death must come to the unworthy.

Block: His reflex is unmatched. For one second he is in front of my enemy, the next second they shall not see him anymore, but instead feel the pain of his axe embedding in their spine or separating their head from the neck.

Alteration: He learnt Alteration techniques from his godfather, the court wizard, who was patient with me and to not disappoint him, he finally learnt how to cast some spells. Be it a light in the darkness or to harden his skin, it is his last line of defense should he not be fast enough to kill his enemy. Battles after battles, he began to learn how to detect the dead by spells and how to paralyze the strongest foe to give him an edge in battle. (Flesh spells, Detect Death, Paralyze).

Smithing: Through years of training, he knows how to create and sharpen an axe. Skyrim is home of the Nords, one of the races most well-known for their crafting, besides the Orcs.

Heavy Armor (only during the Civil War questline): he learns how to adjust himself to the new Imperial Armor, for it signifies his status in the Legion. It slows him down a lot, but offers much more protection.

    * I feel this build is complete when you reach level 35, above that you could add more points to Smithing (Advanced Smithing) or Speech.

    BATTLE STRATEGY

The awakened Monk is the embodiment of the traditional Nordic fighting style, those of fury and anger as his charge splits the head of the first enemy (Great Critical Charge), followed by block and sweep attack simultaneously. His robes do not slow him down as armors would, but with Flesh spells he could not take much damage as those who clad themselves fully in steel. He knows he must be smart in fights; he dodges around until he finds the appropriate time to attack, usually from behind them. By the power of the Voice he is able to move extremely fast to naked eyes (Quick Reflexes, Slow Time) and he can bring the toughest bastards to their knees or flung them far away (Unrelenting Force).

    ROLEPLAY

    4E 202 in Whiterun

It has begun to rain in Whiterun, clouds has already darkened the day and lightning flashes through the sky as Legate Rikke and General Tullius are strolling to Breezehome.

              - Can you believe it, Legate? Peace has come to this land, once again.

              - The war has ended, Sir. But how long do you think peace would last?

              - Not for long, not until Thalmor grasp is lifted. Why does he want us to come here? It’d better be for a good reason.

              - I am not sure, Sir. Shall we find out?

Rikke opens the door. Suddenly she drops her sword to the ground as she sees a dead man sitting cross-legged, surrounding him with a dozen candles with a Stalhrim Battleaxe in front of him.

              - He’s… dead, General.

              - What?

              - The Dragonborn. He's dead.

Rikke, still shaking, slowly approaches the corpse and she saw, in front of the legendary Dragonborn, a letter. She picks it up, and read it aloud to Tullius:

I grew up in Cyrodiil in a normal Nordic family. My mother taught me how to read and write and my father taught me how to swing an axe properly. He died when I was 10. Stricken by sadness, my mother passed away a year later. The court wizard, the kindest Altmer I have ever known, took me as his apprentice. For all I knew, he was my second father. He taught me magic, but being a Nord myself, magic is something distant and hard to grasp. I learnt to cast simple spells as Magelight and Ironflesh, and that was all I could achieve. However, I am strong and fast, even for a Nord.

When I was 27, I became a Guard for my city where I uphold the law to highest order. I was just and fearless and well-known for my temper. One time, I was drunk and I saw a thug, who turned out to be a guy from a wealthy family, harassed a young girl, I felt anger rushing in my head and I killed him with my bare hand. His bodyguards ran to me, swords sheathing and I killed all five of them. I realized that I broke the law and had to pay with a death penalty, so I escaped.

I changed my name, became a monk, a disciple of Kynareth to avoid the death sentence, however, I preferred drinking and fighting and killing so much more than praying for a Goddess I did not even believe if she exists, so they banished me.

So I was off on my way to Skyrim, for a new life where my skills would be appreciated

I have escaped from Helgen. That damned dragon burnt down the town, but it saved me from execution. I ran as fast as I could to Riverwood, and then Whiterun.

    There my journey began…

I helped Danica to revive the Gildergreen.

I befriended Golldir, a good, merry guy I found in Hillgrund’s Tomb. We fight and we drink together and we became brothers in arms. We wandered from place to place, brought justice to those who deserved it. We wanted to start a rebellion ourselves, to replace the corrupted government of Skyrim and for the good of our people. We went from Hold to Hold, helping people, destroying bandits’ forts and killing those who did not deserve a life. In Whiterun, Nazeem. In Solitude, Jaree-Ra. In Windhelm, Bolund and Rolf Stone-Fist, and so on. Our bounty was high.

I thwarted Madanach’s plan to escape, killing him as well as Thonar Silver-Blood.

I helped Lucan get his Claw back and discovered an ancient secret.

I fought the dragons in the Western Tower. I discovered that I am Dragonborn. Jarl Balgruuf granted me Breezehome.

I met the Greybeards, I learnt the Way of the Voice. My Shout can tear through mountains, even the dragon Odahviing is no match for me.

I became a member of the Companion. But as long as I knew the association with Hircine, I did not become a member of the Circle.

It was a long journey, I went to Sovngarde and I saw the heroes of the past, those who were only stories to be told in our time. I have slain Alduin, the World-Eater and I spared Paarthunax. I went to Solstheim and I released this land from the grasp of Miraak. I sided with the Dawnguard to destroy the Vampire Lord Harkon.

Golldir died soon after the battle of Castle Volkihar. I gave him a proper ceremony. However, his name was not cleared and he is widely regarded as a cold-blooded murderer amongst society. I wanted to clear his name.

I saw war ravaging this land, I saw the common people addressing me Dragonborn, but the death penalty is still with me as the Empire still saw me as a murderer. I decided to approach General Tullius and I told him if he granted me amnesty and cleared Golldir’s name, I would fight for the Empire. He accepted it. I abandoned my robes, donning the red and white plate armor. I fought for him in all battle, instilling courage to Imperial troops as well as fear to the army of the Bear of Markath.

I defended Whiterun from the siege; I led the first charge into Windhelm. I slain so many people I could not keep count.

I fought Galmar Stone-Fist and took the bastard’s life. I took Ulfric’s head with a single strike of my axe.

I destroyed the Dark Brotherhood, for those who operated in darkness and conspiracy do not have honour.

Skyrim, at last, was safe, with one only price to pay - my tainted soul. For a year I reserved to the life of solitude, studying the way of Kynareth and Stendarr as well as trying to find the inner peace in my mind. I realized my hands run red with blood of Beast, Man and Mer alike. So I lighted up the candles and finished the great tale of the once glorious Dragonborn, now nothing and no one but dust in the wind.

In my life I have never cultivated goodness

                    Relishing only murder and arsons

Suddenly my golden shackles have been opened

Here my jade locks have been pulled asunder

Alas! Hereby the river tide cometh

Now I finally realize that I am what I am.’

Rikke closed the letter, a tear escaped her eyes.

    Conclusion

Thanks to anyone who has the patience to read all this build.

I do not own any picture of this build (except the perk spread).

My inspiration of this build comes from the character Lu Zhishen in Water Margin. Shout out to the most badass monk ever in history!

If you like this build, give it a like for me :)
