A very nice build! I really like the use of the familiar. Now I can dust of my Alterationist and give him some offensive abilities. Maybe I will take Belrand with me and start a little pack! ;) +1

What kind followers would you recommend? Personally, I was thinking about Kharjo, 'cause, y'know, "Khajit guards your back." Or maybe

Or is it better to run around w/ just our familiar as company?

This build can definitely hold its own with just the Familiar. Dual cast it whenever you're wandering around. A follower wasn't really necessary but a traveling companion would definitely fit the roleplay. I'd pick a follower that is most like a bard, someone with a good attitude. Personally I'd pick Sven from Riverwood or Cosnach from Markarth. Kharjo would make a good follower too though.

    Ok, just wanted to know.

Also, what guardian stone would you recommend early on, mage or warrior?

Good question. If you use Quick Reflexes as much as I did, start with the Warrior Stone just for that reason. Once you get there, go back and grab the Mage Stone. I kept the Mage Stone until my Alteration and Illusion hit 50 and switched to the Tower. Of course you can change your final Standing Stone if you want. Someone told me they chose the Lord instead which is always a good choice. Comes down to preference really :)

Final question: when would you deem it absolutely necessary to use fast travel? I will travel around a lot, but I want your opinion on when you would deem it necessary to do so.

I stopped using fast travel when I put the basis of the build together: super-powered Flames, the Mirage trick, and Quick Reflexes. With the ability to hold your own in any battle you can pretty much travel by foot wherever you want. One word of Slow Time also helps alot! For that Temporal Bind trick of course.

Question, Al: do the robes & gloves still respawn after the quest is finished?

Yeah, it respawns after ten days of not entering the house. On a side note, the Mysterium Xarxes turns into a bucket if you hit it with Destruction magic. Enjoy!

One of the best builds i've found :). But does the aspect of terror bug for +10 dmg on fire spells still work? it says that it was fixed O.o
