Now those are some inspirational words! Flattering too ;) I tried to keep moving forward but all these anecdotes... Needless to say, I picked up my Transient Sorcerer again! This may be the build that breaks Lvl 60 for me :) Tomorrow I think I'll try your engaging no-HUD experience! I've done it before with other builds and I absolutely think it'll be great with this one! I play on Master but I love a good challenge! I think Prisoner said he played this build on Legendary! :o

Nah, Legendary's just too much I think. I might bump it up once I'm feeling a little stronger. For now I'm still feeling pretty challenged on Master. A high difficulty really fits the build though. I don't like playing Master on most builds because it just doesn't feel right being weak when I'm playing an ultra-powerful mage/warrior/assassin. However, I feel it really works with a build that you describe as requiring "wit, some basic magic, and a little luck at times."

From other commenters I've gotten the same sentiments. It's amazing how Novice spells could be wielded in such a way. Nonetheless, always keep your wits about you! I picked my Sorcerer back up and was a bit rusty with my methods. An Elder Dragon swooped in on me and crisped me in a flash even with the A-Crown and dual-casting Healing. I love that impending threat of swift doom that comes with the territory though :)

I am planning on adding a few shouts, so as to keep my wits and my life lol. Become ethereal, ww sprint, and kynes peace most likely. Throw voice later, once I can face Krosis. I see these as thematic for a 'magician', while adding a sort of extra utility belt/ non damaging tricks. Prisoner said it pretty well below, this build feels right on higher difficulty. Master is abit too much for me... I'm unused to mage playstyles. I compromised on the hud. It's on in towns to avoid inadvertent theft, and to see how much different spells are currently spending magicka. And when I'm in dungeons I turn it on a tiny bit just to see my sneak cursor. But in the wilds, its all wits. (You really start recognizing the noises each enemy will make when you've been detected(saber cats make none)) This is one of the few builds that clicked with me and let me run with it intuitively while having a RP blast. If flattery and anecdotes are acceptable repayment, I could easily keep it up lulz

    Level 7
Wearing Hooded Blue Robes and An Enchanted Steel Dagger
Killed the first Dragon today, when he dropped to the ground I summoned a Familiar and used Frostbite until he died (and he didn't attack me, too busy killing my Wolf :P)
Was also attacked by some vampires, but my trusty familiar went and took their attention while I burned them all from a small distance, one survived but my Fire Dagger was enough to take care of him
Pure Chaos happened in a Bandit Camp... I casted Fury in every bandit, summoned a familiar and ran away while they fought each other, I don't know how, but my Familiar got out alive :O After reading Casey's No-Hud adventures, I'm going to do the same :D My Sorcerer is similar to Casey's in personality, guess the "Wild, Undisciplined, But Naturally Talented Magician" fits with this character so well :D

So I'm now at level 20-23ish (juggling this playthrough with a build project of mine) I have just completed Hags End, got the slow time shout, and finished Arkngthamz. I'm now searching for the dagger pieces and the atherial shards, veritably travelling ALL across the land lol.

I had a question about the Temporal Bind move. While I am getting a noticeable effect when I use it, It doesn't last anywhere near long enough for me to finish a battle and need to wait an hour. Am I doing it wrong, or do I need to perk Stability for it to last "way too long"?

Also, just in case, what perks would you prioritize after level 44?

That's exactly what the listed quests were supposed to do ;) Temporal Bind always lasted a really long time. I always had to wait an hour to end it. You really gotta mash your shout button as soon as Quick Reflexes ends. Or maybe I'm just used to it with Stability. If I had to guess I'd say it lasted around two or three minutes. Long enough for Slow Time to cooldown twice at least. A few perks I wanted but didn't have the patience to shoot for were Twin Souls, Master of the Mind, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, and Extra Effect. Recovery 2/2 also. I wanted to use one Familiar for Mirage and have another take care of my dirty work. With Master of the Mind you can cast Fury on anything as well as Courage spells on your Familiar. The Enchanting perks obviously just further your gear and Recovery helps regeneration. A lot of these perk will be tough to hit though because of their level requirements obviously. Glad to hear you're still at it! Around the mid-twenties is when this build got really fun. Quiet Casting, Detect Life and Muffle bring some great foresight for upcoming battles even indoors. I would patiently plan out attacks while enemies walked their routes unaware :)

I will mash the button then lol . Hope I get the hang of it, a couple minutes of slowmo sounds incredible. I thought the fun started when my dual cast flames got augmented with aspect of terror, although I suspect Temporal Bind will really tie things together.

Im oddly finding very few soul gems this time, and I haven't been mass looting so Im always short on funds. I need the Black Star, but I think I'll need to master temporal bind (love that technique name for this guy).

Speech is also just short of the 50/persuasion mark. But Im always broke lol!

Best thing I did for Enchanting was stopping in at Severin manor and loot that little hoard of soul gems and fill em on your travels. The Black Star wasn't too bad really so long as you have the Atronach Stone stored in the A-Crown. Otherwise I'd definitely recommend Temporal Bind.
