This is my first character build in along time, due to the fact that I have been incredibly busy. I saw this character contest and I thought it would be the perfect chance to comeback.I chose The Blackwood Company. The Blackwood Company is a mercenary group that has always been at odds with the Fighters Guild. This group of mercenaries are not necessarily known for their skills in battle, but rather their use of Hist Sap to amplify their combat abilities. When I was making this character, I wanted to recreate this to the best of my abilities. Therefore,  I did not want to be an unkillable machine, but just a simplistic warrior with a few tricks up it's sleeve. But, at the same time, I did not want to have a boring warrior play through. I was able to achieve this rather well (I'll explain later). Without further ado, I proudly present the last member of the Blackwood Company.

    Backstory
200 years of bad blood has finally taken it's toll. The Fighters Guild has always hated my company, and after 200 hundred years they finally did something about it. They charged into our hall, killing every single person they saw, igniting our hist trees on fire, and destroying our hall-our home. They even sent a few fighters to find all the Company members' that were in the middle of their own contracts. Thats how they almost killed me, good thing I killed them first. I made it back to the Company's headquaters only to find that they was nothing left but ashes and the dead. Ever since that happened, I knew that if I wanted to live, I would have to run somewhere that they could never find me. Skyrim is the best choice. As far as I know, I am the last living member of the Blackwood Company, and I will rebuild.

Race: Any, however the vast majority of the Blackwood Company were either Argonian or Khajiit. I personally went with Argonian because Hist Skin was rather helpful in certain cases.

    Magicka/Health/Stamina

0/2/2-This build uses no magic at all, with the exception of a shout, Health is used for durability and stamina was used for sprinting between enemies and bashing.

Stone: Steed Stone. This stone is part of what makes the speed of this character possible. Without an armor penalty, the user of this stone moves with the speed of wearing nothing, but still has the protection that comes with heavy armor.

Major Skills: Alchemy, One-Handed, Block, Heavy Armor

Minor Skills: Archery, Smithing, Pickpocket, Sneak

Equipment: Full Ebony Armor, Ebony War Axe, Ebony Bow, Targe of the Bloodied
    Shouts: Elemental Fury

    Major Skills

Alchemy: All Company men learn different ways to manipulate Hist Sap, but being without the tree has forced the surviving member of the Company to get creative to reproduce similar effects.
One-Handed: The best way to deliver poisons, and the bleeding damage from the war ax will help.
Heavy Armor: Used for protection and when used in conjunction with the Steed Stone, there are literal no negatives to heavy armor.
Block: Used to protect from damage and to empower bashes.

    Minor Skills

Archery: Used only to deliver poisons that are far away and to deal with dragons.
Smiting: With being on your own, you must be able to create and maintain your own armor and weapons.
Pickpocket: Being a less than noble mercenary, this is a great way to deliver poisons to enemies and get rich at the same time.
Sneak: Only two perks are chosen because the Steed Stone muffles armor, these perks help pick pocketing and muffling you the rest of the way.

    Level 50 Perks

I highly reccomend that the Steed Stone and the Targe of the Bloodied is aquired as early as possible, because they both are needed for the unique combat style. Before they are aquired, combat is regular shielded combat style. Once these two things are aquired however, combat drastically changes. It becomes based on speed, and moving around to different eneimies. To begin, use Elemental Fury as soon as combat starts. Next, bash an enemy a couple of times and slash them with yout war axe. While they are suffering from bleeding damage, move onto the next enemy. Rinse and Repeat as oftn as needed. Poisons of lingering damage are quite effective as they stack with bleeding damage. Elemental Fury and the Steed Stone will allow for you to swing fast and move fast. Do not power attack! It is a waste of stamina that should be used to sprint between targets of need be.

The role play for this build is rather simple but they are somethings that you may want to know.

    • As a member of the BWC, you are willing to take any job, no matter what the job requires (That means the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild are allowed).
    •  You are the last known living member of the BWC, therefore, feel free to use a follower. However, you both must be in full ebony armor and weapons to show that you are different from the rest.
    •  Never remove your ebony armor, as it shows who you are and that you are proud to be part of the company.

Here is a list of special potions and poisons I found Particularly useful.

    • Hist Poison: Few can with stand the Hist when refined in this way. Slow and Damage Health (River Betty and Deathbell)
    • Hist Armor: BWC members are all eventually taught how to refine the Hist Sap to benefit themselves in combat. Fortify Block and Fortify Heavy Armor (Bleeding Crown and Slaughterfish Scales and White Cap)
    •  Hist Rejuvenation: This potion is used to restore yourself in combat quickly. Fortify and Restore Health, Restore Stamina (Bear Claws and Charred Skeever Hide and Wheat)

    • Hist Toxin: This is used to knock down big enemies and damage them at the same time. Good for crowd control. Paralisye and lingering health damage (Canis Root and Imp Stool and Scathecrow).

Thanks to everyone for reading and to Mason for having this contest! I hope everyone enjoys what I think to be a good warrior, but requires alchemy to be the best, just how the Blackwood Company used the Hist Sap to augment their abilities.

I strongly suggest replacing all of these text arts with the same one, so that there's some cohesiveness. Each one is enormously different, and distracting one from another. I like the story you've incorporated, and anything Hist-related catches my eye.

I just changed the text arts to match, and thanks!

I understand what you mean about it feeling a bit short. But with the organization, I put the skills first (Under the Race and Stats section) Then I put perk reasons and perks. I see about re working it very soon and thanks for the like!

A lot of bad memories with those dudes... the village I slaughtered, the little fetcher I killed, and of course the hist sap hangover. I like that you stay true to their mercenary history... no romanticizing here; you in it fo' dah hist, hits, and septims ;D Nicely done!

Yeah, I agree. I mean, I was shocked when I saw all those innocent people, and this wasn't when my character was being a genocidal maniac high on several types of Skooma
