Character Build: The Paladin - Anniversary Edition

  • August 3, 2013

The highest level ward spell only contributes 80 to armor rating, which is abysmal considering the armor cap is 567. Wards are really only good for blocking magical damage, and even then it is very mana intensive to maintain a ward. You're better off with using alteration to mitigate physical damage.

Yeah, it's impossible to use only wards for defense. At there absolute best, you'd get 200 AR only

And even that can only be achieved by dual casting.

Thanks for the great tips on such a classic type of character. This has given me some ideas on how to bring it home to skyrim for my next few play through. You and mason are def at the top of character building.

I just wanted to thank you for doing this awesome build. Played it all the way to level 50 and had lots of fun doing it until I broke the roleplaying.

Nords?! Bah, Bretons are better suited for a Paladin due to their magic resistance being good against casters and dragons.

Im pretty sure this is one of the first builds on this site, and one of the greatest at the same time. It should have way more likes than this.

Eh, I don't know why. Call it personal preference, but unless a build I'm making or trying calls or it, I always play as Bretons.
