    Hey Jo'Daro,

So i've changed the name of the build, but I also understand you're ire. Let me take this time to actually do 2 things:

    • Thank you - I'll thank you for coming up with the blood mage build and actually force me to think of an alternative playstyle during my research... this build was specifically created to be a polar opposite of whatever your blood mage build is.

Your build also let me take a closer look at the blood magic and it;s integration into DA2, thus leading me to set this in part as a support DPS/Healer build mechanic, avoiding illusion and the other mechanics you have taken.

    • Set the distinction between a Blood mage and a Hemomancer - In my opinion, the primary difference is:

      Blood Mages:

Blood Mages tend to use a form of magic governing the usage of blood as a resource to cast destructive and defensive eldrritch spells, otherwise known as blood magic.

Usually aided through demonic means, blood mages are usually accompanied by said demons and are generally unable to self heal and often rely on “leeching” life force from others as a utility skill to recoup loss health.

Stereotypes such as Dragon Age / Dragon Age 2’s Blood Mage and WoW’s Warlock class. Here’s a breakdown of the commonly used stereotypical skillsets:
    • The conversion of Blood to a magical resource
    • Primary damage via casting of Arcane and/or fel tainted eldritch spells
    • Weak transference of Life Force to a Minion as a support spell
    • Weak absorption of Life Force from enemies or allies as a utility spell
    • Manipulation of enemy life force (Fear / Blood Slave)

      Hemomancers:

Hemomancers, utilize their blood to convert it into a resource used to cast spells or draw from it directly. Lacking the destructive nor demonic tendencies, their spells tend to be more vampiric in nature, heavily focusing on absorbing the life force of their enemies as their primary source of damage and healing.

Hemomancer’s have a deep understanding of necromancy and aspirations of lichdom, gaining complete mastery of life and death. As such, it is not uncommon to find them skilled in the usage of poisons or spells of such nature nor their complete mastery of the undead and life healing.

Stereotypes of such as League of Legend’s the Crimson Reaper Vladimir and WoW’s Deathknight class, specializing in blood magic. Here’s a breakdown of the commonly used skills of a Hemomancer:
    • Primary Damage via casting of Blood Spells or Blood Absorbing melee attacks
    • The conversion of Blood to a magical resource or The usage of that resource to heal
    • Strong absorption and manipulation of Life force as a primary healing mehcanism
    • The ability to utilize undead minions & Necromancy
    • The spread of poison related effects

Dude! Why did you change it! It is a build based on blood and Hemomancer was so freaking awesome. Don't let anyone make you change your presentation.

I highly suggest you change it back as that was your original intent. This is a very unique build and it requires the great name you posted it with.

I'm having trouble with the Ring of Namira glitch. I've also read on a few different forums that it has been patched as of 1.9. I play on 360 btw

Very interesting build. It may look like a blood mage in the beginning, but it's not. Well done. +1

This is quite the incredible idea! Seems like I have another build to play now.

I did a little research online and found out that though the patch does not fix the problem, it does seem to affect some people... I am assuming it must be related to any fresh characters started with the 1.9 patch installed.

I'm assuming It didn't affect my creation, cause the base template for character creation (Original saved file), was from pre 1.9. There also have been cases of a glitch occuring where the feed option doesn't come up, even with the ring of namira equipped normally.

To ensure it's not related to the glitch above mentioned, I would recommend that you:

    1. Save your game
    2. Drop the ring of namira from your inventory
    3. Pick it back up
    4. Try to see if a feed option occurs on a corpse

If the above doesn't work, please do let me know and I will try to either find a workaround with proper reasoning or drop this mechanic (and essentially the ritual) altogether.

Do note that this mechanic just add's flavor and the same effects can be obtained via health regen potions and food, so it does not really affect gameplay. The core glitch mechanics of Ritual of Chaos and Ritual of Dominance is all you need actually to get this toon up and running.

Thanks once again for bringing this to my attention.
