Wait, the pic did look a bit familiar (found it on Thraen I think). I didn't remember seeing it any any builds, but I didn't look super hard. Don't tell me I stole one of your old profile/build header pictures!

Hahaha no I don't care. Just recognized it! Glad someone is using it.

Khergan, you haven't liked the build yet.

Quick question - in your perkspread you have the light armor perks "Custom Fit" and "Unhindered" taken, but your character does not wear all light armor head, chest, hands, and feet. Doesn't this mean that "Custom Fit" wouldn't work? Also, did you find that this character had sufficient defensive capabilities with only three pieces of light armor, no alteration, and no shield? Thanks, and again, great build.

Hey SKane, obviously I didn't make this build, but I am playing it at the moment. Unhindered doesn't need a full set to take effect (it just makes all worn light armor weightless). And Custom Fit was needed to get to Unhindered. And this character heavily relies on skill with a blocking and bashing. I've had no trouble at all on Expert except against a Bandit Chief wielding a frost-enchanted battleaxe (even if I blocked, he would deplete my stamina so I couldn't bash). But yes, you're AR is relatively low, even the Ansei's is pretty low. If you want to take Elven smithing, I suggest not taking Shield Charge (it just kinda looks weird to me when doing it with a One-Handed sword). Oh, and one more piece of advice, drinking a potion of block will actually give you a pretty decent defense (provided you blocked it, of course).

great build dude im an avid fan of redguards I always make a character for different classes and this is perfect for my next playthourgh love the lore and the time it took the make this easy +1

ps: if you combine the armor set with the worn shrouded cowl you'd get the 25% boost from custom fit as it is counted as light armor and it actually looks good downside is you have to get pretty far in the DB questline and it cannot be improved but can be enchanted

Thanks Matt, so for the Light Armor perks in this build, Unhindered was just so important that it was worth sacrificing that perk put into Custom Fit? I suppose that if you really want to dance around your opponents, and that Unhindered perk gives a lot more freedom to move, then that makes sense with this character's relatively low level of defense. Thanks for the quick reply, you answered all of my questions.

Yeah, I would say it should be one of the last perks you take. The most important for me are the 5/5 perks in the all of the skills, Quick Reflexes, the bash perks, and the Fighting Chance (power attacks consume 25% less stamina).

Thanks, man. The major downside to the Worn Shrouded Cowl is that, as you say, it requires siding with the DB. That's just not really something this character would ever do. Maybe if you decided to go rogue and play him as a Hiradirge in the endgame. But then you'd probably want to make a bunch of other changes as well.

If that interests you, look into the lore on the Hiradirge. There isn't much out there unfortunately — I think basically all we know is that they were a renegade band of Ansei, presumed to be skilled with stone magic, and are sometimes credited with causing the cataclysm that supposedly led to Yokuda sinking. I believe there's actually a Hiradirge build on the blog already, so maybe check that out too. Not sure how that build deals with the Dark Brotherhood though.
