    Anastasia, the Pirate Queen

After a life of crime along the waters of southern Tamriel, Anastasia is ready to conquer the northern seas. However, after losing her ship to filthy Thalmor scum and arrested accidently in crossing the border to Skyrim, it’s not looking too good for this queen of pillaging. However, once escaping the disaster at Helgen, Anastasia is prepared to start from scratch again and rebuild her notorious standing. Watch out Skyrim, Tamriel’s fiercest and bonniest lass is here to steal all your worth!

This build focuses on a fast, devastating character who loots as much as she can and disables enemies so she can loot them some more. Sneaking is also a critical aspect in some areas, but in dungeons and crypts, nothing beats putting the hurt on Draugr like dual-wielding fury. Defense is going to be a problem in the beginning of the game, so make sure you get your Alteration and Enchanting skills up. Other Perks in Pickpocket and Speech help making money easy, which is important for your job.

    Character

    Role

Your role as a pirate is to loot things as much as you can. When you sneak behind enemies, steal their stuff, especially their armor and weapons. Sneak into houses of nobility and wealth and steal all their worth. Pillage small settlements of all their goods. Everything is fair game. And once you've stripped them to bare bones, you can either kill them or leave them to wallow in their sorrow.

Get a crew ready. You lost your ship and crew in that last Thalmor raid, so get to creating a strong and fun crew. Remember that you're going to spend the rest of your life with these people, so choose wisely. That means leave the annoying b**** that is Lydia behind.

Also, f*** the Thalmor. Kill them whenever you get the chance.

    Weapon

    Scimitar + Windshear

Nothing suits a salty mistress more than a sharp, curved sword.  Or in this case, two sharp, curved swords. Better to hack landlubbers with, they are, especially when knocked down by the gale force of Windshear

    Apparel

Hammerfell Garb, Boots, Gloves, Circlet, Ring, Necklace

The Pirate Queen is quite comfortable in her homeland's gear, but she is persnickety about her jewelry. They must be gaudy and expensive. Of course everything is enchanted for Illusion and Alteration with some stamina stats.

    Spells

    Illusion: Muffle, Invisibility, Calm

    Alteration: Oakflesh, Paralyze, Dragonhide

You need the best spells to defend yourself. Sneaking and disabling her enemies, Anastasia is determined to let nothing touch her or her treasure.

    Powers

    Berserker Rage or Adrenaline Rush

This one is up to you. Both provide great powers to augment dual-wielding capabilities. Personally, I like Redguards because they look better as females. Of course, you can play as other races, but these two are most fitted to this build. For the sake of this build, Anastasia will be a Redguard.

    Steed Stone

You need to carry a whole bunch of loot. Get something to ease the burden

    Elemental Fury

In the heat of battle, this Shout can turn you into a storm of death as you slice and dice enemies to pieces

    Followers

Since we’re using a melee character, get a follower that specializes in archery or magic to round out battles nicely. When you join the Blades, equip them with the Blades armor. Followers are useful for distracting enemies or helping to Soul Trap them. Dogs (especially Barbas!) and Horses (Shadowmere!!!) are extremely useful as they are quite hardy and quick to kill things.

    Alliance

    Empire

Things were going quite nicely in Cyrodiil under the lazy rule of the Empire. Why hurt what works before? Also, it makes it easier to sneak behind the Thalmors’ backs and take revenge for your old ship.

    Blades

Who cares about Paarthurnax? All you want is more money, and last time you’ve checked, Dragon Bones and Scales are worth a fortune. Also, you can get a crew started here.

    Build

Alright, so you want to learn how to become a scourge of the waters? Then follow the Pirate’s Code below. Of course, the code is more like a guideline, so you can make changes wherever you want. Since everyone will level at different rates, feel free to put points into perks earlier or later than written below. All that matters is by the end of the day, you’re sitting on a pile of loot.

    LVL 10|100 MP |150 HP | 150 ST

One Handed: Armsman (1) | Dual Flurry (1) | Fighting Stance | Bladesman

    Light Armor: Agile Defender (1)

    Pickpocket: Light Fingers (1)

    Speech: Haggling (1)

Smithing: Steel Smithing | Arcane Smithing

The quiet little village of Riverwood serves as an appropriate base to begin your professional criminal career. Start by putting points in the first Perk of each of the five skills. Putting one point in these already helps a lot in the game, especially Light Fingers. Put the rest into your fighting abilities to increase the effectiveness of your attacks.

    LVL 20|100 MP |200 HP | 200 ST

    Alteration: Novice | Apprentice

    Illusion: Novice | Apprentice

Enchanting: Enchanter, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, Extra Effect

    Sneak: Stealth (1) | Backstab

This is the time in the game to really start your Enchanting career. By this time you should have access to several mages to purchase Soul Gems. Increase that Enchanting skill so you can use high-level spells for absolutely no cost. The Novice/Apprentice perks enable you to use Muffle, Calm, and Oakflesh, which are important early game.

    LVL 30| 100 MP | 250 HP | 250 ST

Alteration: Magic Resistance | Adept Alteration

Illusion: Hypnotic Gaze |Animage | Kindred Mage | Quiet Casting

One Handed: Armsman (2) |Dual Flurry (2) | Dual Savagery | Savage Strike

This is where it gets very freeform. You can branch out in any way you’d like, but up above is a good way to increase your capabilities.

    LVL 40| 100 MP | 300 HP | 300 ST

    Alteration: Stability

    One Handed: Armsman (3) | Bladesman (2)

Light Armor: Agile Defender (2) | Custom Fit

Pickpocket: Light Fingers (2) | Night Thief | Extra Pockets |Cutpurse

    Sneak: Stealth (2)

We’re pretty much through all the important Perks. Now it’s time to delve into more specialization, especially with Pickpocket.

    LVL 50| 100 MP | 350 HP | 350 ST

     Illusion: Master of the Mind

    One Handed: Armsman (4|5) | Bladesman (3)

Pickpocket: Light Fingers (3|4|5) | Misdirection

Light Armor: Agile Defender (3) | Unhindered

Man, we’re just getting fiercer and stronger here. With Master of the Mind, it becomes much, much easier to loot dungeons and Dwemer ruins at these high levels.

    LVL 60| 100 MP | 400 MP | 400 ST

Light Armor: Wind Walker | Deft Movement

    Pickpocket: Perfect Touch

Speech: Allure | Merchant | Investor | Fence | Master Trader

Sneak: Stealth (3|4) | Muffled Movement | Light Foot | Silent Roll | Silence | Shadow Warrior

At this time, we’re just rounding out the skill trees for Light Armor and Sneak. We can get Perfect Touch too, to make it easier to stab enemies. At this points, you can choose to do two things. Either fill out Speech for Master Trader or Sneak for Shadow Warrior. The first one increases your own monetary gain, while the second creates fun moments in battles and can actually make fighting easier. Of course, you can do both after level 60.

Beyond this point, it’s up to you how you want to spend the rest of your 21 points if you manage to make it all the way. Branch out into other Skill trees and explore what Skyrim has to offer. There’s nothing but the horizon to stop you on your journey to greatness.

Do note while this build emphasizes on a lot of the Thief tree skills, do not try to focus on Lockpicking tree, despite its tempting perks. In the second to last quest, you come into possession of the Skeleton Key, which is the unbreakable lockpick. You won't really be able to complete the entire quest line, but all you get at the end is some below average gear as the Guild Leader, so just keep that Key.

    Overall Summary

    LVL 60| 100 MP | 400 HP | 400 ST

One Handed: Armsman (5) | Fighting Stance | Bladesman (3) | Savage Strike | Dual Flurry (2) | Dual Savagery

Smithing: Steel Smithing | Arcane Smithing

Light Armor: Agile Defender (3) | Custom Fit | Unhindered | Wind Walker | Deft Movement

Sneak: Stealth (4) | Backstab | Muffled Movement | Light Foot | Silent Roll | Silence | Shadow Warrior

Pickpocket: Light Fingers (5) | Night Thief | Extra Pockets | Cutpurse | Misdirection | Perfect Touch

    Speech: Haggling (1) | Allure | Merchant | Investor | Fence | Master Trader

Illusion: Novice | Apprentice | Animage | Kindred Mage | Hypnotic Gaze | Quiet Casting | Master of the Mind

    Alteration: Novice | Apprentice | Adept | Magic Resistance (1) | Stability

Enchanting: Enchanter (1) | Insightful Enchanter | Corpus Enchanter | Extra Effect

    Pro Tips

    • You're a pirate. Exploit the game as much as you want. Get that Smithing/Enchanting/Alchemy skill to 100 with that Fortify Restoration glitch.
    • When fighting dual-wielding style, try to "dance" around your enemies using the side power attacks, which causes you to step to the left or right. This is much easier to do when under Elemental Fury.
    • Shadow Warrior is especially cool since when you crouch down and "hide", it's easier to steal the loot off enemies in combat. The vampire and Nocturnal powers help this style of gameplay as well.

Think i beat you to it...

    Alik'r

  • January 10, 2012

Build are similar, I agree, but they're different in a few things.

The Pirate is dual-wielding with spells that work to cripple her enemies and robbing them blind. The Alik'r are masters of varied destruction using defensive magic in conjunction with enchanted weapons.

The Pirate is also follower-focused. I haven't quite explained it yet because I need to test a few followers, but the idea is that she's gathering a crew to fight with her.

A lot of these builds are going to be similar because Skyrim skills aren't very varied. It's all in how you play the game.

Was just pulling your leg mate!

Me and ponty once posted a 'Paladin' & a 'Crusader' almost at the same time which were practically the same build.

Welcome to the group, your attention to detail is very nice & for the first time here i see you have included a break down of levels which is very useful for anyone hoping to recreate your character.

    Nice!

    Thanks.

I'm in the middle of working on another build. Ideas be swimming in my head. It will involve a lot of cold things.
