Character Build: The Progenitor

Thanks man, glad you liked it. I always make sure to grab Agent of Mara on my Magic Resist characters. I figure enough people know about it that it wasn't really worth mentioning, but probably would have been a good idea to be safe.

As for the Howl of Terror, it's been a while... IIRC it's something like 20 or so base, and potentially over 30. I don't recall exactly, but I do remember testing on Giant Frostbite Spiders, Giants, and Mammoths and figuring on it being in that range. I don't play on PC, so I can't look into the game files to find the exact numbers — maybe a kind soul who happens to read this could help?

I forget if Illusion perks such as Aspect of Terror, Animage, and Kindred Mage affect Howl of Terror. I'm fairly certain it is not affected by Master of the Mind, but I think those other Illusion perks do count. Also, I believe the Totem of Fear perk adds something like 8-10 to the magnitude, but again I'm really not sure — I don't have any notes saved on this build, and it's been over half a year since I played it. Also, I think there are actually two different versions of the howl — the base version which is available from the moment you become a werewolf is, I believe, different from the version you get if you activate the Totem of Fear.

Hey I'm trying this build and was wondering which quests and skills to start doing first.should I build up the destruction or two handed first and what levels do you go get specific gear(Dukaan, azhidal, namira)?thanks.

I'd start with the Companions quests first. Good combat experience, access to Skyforge Steel and Silver greatswords, and once you become Harbinger, you can train combat skills for free with Companions followers.

I'd also do The Taste of Death early on, since it's quick and easy, and effectively raises your character's level by 10. You can grab Skaal Armor from Fahlbtharz or Highpoint Tower, though these can be tough at lower levels.

For combat, I'd probably start with dual Destruction spells out, and switch to your greatsword as soon as your Magicka is depleted. That works out pretty well, because the Destruction spells can damage enemies from range, and by the time your Magicka is drained, you should be close enough for a melee attack. For Dukaan and Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana, basically try to get them as soon as you're strong enough. Depending on your difficulty, probably around level 20-30.

Rugged frozen warrior and a werewolf! Does it get any better I ask? +1 from me this is probably the best wolf-build I have seen.

I am absolutely loving this build. One question though: I am having trouble with using the werewolf chat glitch. If, in the the follower menu during the "chat," I equip Dukaan first and then the Skaal hat, both the mask and the hat are visible in human form. If I equip the hat first and the mask second, only the mask is visible. Where am I going wrong?

I should clarify that I thought the glitch would make it so the mask would not be visible.

Hey Vaaljørn, sorry for the delayed response.

It's been a very long time since I played this build or fiddled with the werewolf chat glitch, but I *believe* that when you equip the hat second, then save, then quit and reload, only the cap will be visible. Did you try anything like that at all?

The ww chat glitch is notoriously finicky with regard to which item(s) will show up, and I vaguely recall having some issues with that myself. I didn't have any problems with seeing the mask personally, but if you're adamant about the aesthetic, you could also get by without even using Dukaan at all -- and therefore no need for the glitch either. Like I said before, it's been a long time since I played this guy ... But Dukaan isn't strictly necessary to gameplay, it just enhances your powers.
