Thanks No snakes aLive, glad you like my build!

And might I say, that was well phrased, I like how you detailed the difference between RP heavy and mechanic heavy builds. It's a useful spectrum that every build falls on, they all have some level of influence from both sides but they usually lean more towards one or the other.

I just realized that Mason used that picture in his Heretic. I'm really starting to wonder how people find so much art that fits their builds. I am having shit luck with it so far..

Well, in this particular case, knights are a pretty easy thing to search for, loads of people like drawing them. With more obscure builds you have to just get more creative. If you ever need help finding pics just let me know, I'll see if I have any better luck =p

After I posted the picture I realized the same thing, Mason just cleverly photoshopped it to make it even cooler.

So sick when people add music to the build! Great work.

Ahh, all this honorable knight stuff is a nice break after watching some Game of Thrones.

Hey there! I foretell you that my English may turn out to be not understandable or gramatically incorrect.

I'm member of a team that tries to represent medieval knights in both philosophy and appearance. So I have quite an experiance.
About the weapons: they had to master fighting with their hands, bow, and of course a melee weapon of choice. Now, that weapon could be a mace, one-handed sword, longsword (it is usually wielded with two hands, but one hand is an option as well), greatswords weren't widespread because wielding it needed immense strength, the speed was low, and had no defense against arrows. Some bold men used it, I don't claim that it wasn't applicated at all, but with common sense: a shield and a one-handed sword offered greater security. Greatswords usually had ceremonial purpose.

Crossbows were really banned by one of them popes, because with only pulling the trigger, a plain, lowborn soldier could kill the (maybe only) heir of a noble dynasty, whose training took years, and whose equipment costed about a yearly money income of a village.

    Roleplaying aspects:
1, In case of someone really cares about feeding their character, fasting (not eating by religious reasons) is a good option. Different types of fast can be applied (maybe for different levels of penitence):

    • No meat (except fish)
    • Low amount of food
    • No alcohol

2, Knights were almost always nobles, so with Hearthfire installed, you could own a homestead for the landlord feeling.
3, Pilgrimages to venture on, but I think you mentioned that.
4, When you are in town, and don't want to impress anybody, wear clothes. - Belive me I experienced wearing armor for 8 hours, such a "pleasure" -
5, Knights were erudite as well, read books for self-improving.

Well that is all for now. I am glad that someone finally made a real knight build. +1 :)

Hey Lanius, thanks for your insight into the lifestyle of knights, there is some great information here! Your English is great, I didn't notice any problems =]
