A brief history of RPG Inquisitors from my POV: Inquisitors aren't really a common thing in any RPG's but they are in a few that have them in them. They are similar to the more common Paladins. Unlike a certain build I could name, I do not think inquisitors are ever depicted as cruel. They generally fight evil and they are a judge of what is right or wrong. They also have holy powers and are quite persuasive. They usually wield a heavy warhammer and wear bulky, golden armor or robes.

While I was writing out the basics to this build I couldn't wait to start playing it! It was the most exciting feeling I'd had about Skyrim for a long time. I hope you feel the same while your reading the guide.

Some say you were sent by the Nine Divines themselves to destroy all things evil across the lands. Others say you were just born that way. All you know is you hate evil and will do anything to destroy it. You have come far from the country's surrounding Skyrim, each one eliminating evil as you go. Now on your way to Skyrim to spread your legacy there it all went wrong. Unfortunate enough to stumble upon an Imperial raid whilst crossing the border into Skyrim you were arrested along with a few key members of the Stormcloaks, including Ulfric Stormcloak. The moment before your execution a dragon attacked the town known as Helgen you were in. Lucky enough to escape with your life, you now have to start over. Your gear was taken and your skills were diminished while imprisoned. You continued on your journey anyways restarting your entire life in Skyrim.

    Basic Information [0A1]

Race: Breton - They have good magic bonuses
    Gender: Either

Recommendations: Dawnguard DLC, Dragonborn DLCLost Paladins of the Divines Wrath Armor by Jerros (Skyrim Nexus)

Major Skills: Two Handed, Heavy Armor, Enchanting, Smithing
    Minor Skills: Restoration, Destruction, Illusion
Other Skills: Speechcraft (We train this but do not invest stat points in it, for role playing), Block (Only 2 points invested into this for quick reflexes. It could get you out of some tight spots). Idea by Alastor.

Quests: Main questline, nothing that knowingly helps evil
Notable Quests: Dawnguard, The Break Of Dawn, The Dragonborn DLC main questline
Factions: The Mage's College (for magical experience)

Civil War (Optional): Choose The Storm Cloaks because the empire was going to execute you reasonlesly. Being a foreigner  that's your only real opinion on the war. You can reason yourself if you want to, that's just my recommendation.

Standing Stone: The Lord Stone (Defensive), The Antorach Stone (Magic)
    Shouts: Storm Call, Whirlwind Sprint

Stat Distribution:  | Magicka 2 | Health 3 | Stamina 2 | - By this I mean for every 7 levels raise the stats in these quantities.

In this build all stats are important. Magicka is because this build relies on magic quite a bit, Health is important in every build, and Stamina is for the heavy equipment you use.

    Skills & Perks [0A2]

    Perk Points: | Level 25 | Level 45 | Level 62 |

Two Handed: This is going to be your main damage output in this build. The Inquisitor usually wields a warhammer so this will be your weapon of choice.

Heavy Armor: It seems to me like the Inquisitor tends to wear bulky armor, so this is why we are using Heavy Armor.

Smithing: This skill is going to be for crafting your gear (especially if you got the armor mod), and improving it.

Enchanting: This is so you can enchant your gear with whatever enchantments you would like instead of relying on luck to find a good piece of gear.

Destruction: This is going to be your secondary skill for dealing damage. The undead are weak against fire and it costs the least amount of Magicka, so that is our spell choice.

Restoration: This skill is so you can heal your health and stamina. It also has the Necromage perk, which makes your spell power 25% better and your spell duration 50% longer when fighting undead.

Illusion: Inquisitors are persuasive and can be quite scary. This will help out with that.

Speechcraft: We are not going to be investing perk points into this because it is almost 100% useless. The point in training this skill is for role playing purposes only. As I said above Inquisitors are persuasive and have good speaking skills.

    ============================================================================
    Equipment [0A3]

Weapons: A Dawnguard Rune Hammer. It can place a Fire Rune that does 50 points of damage at the expense of Stamina instead of Magicka. Also use fire destruction spells. The reason for all the fire is that it is more effective than other enchantments or spells on the undead and fire costs less Magicka (Hammer choice idea by John Kelly).

Chest: Wrath Cuirass or Dwarven Armor if you didn't get the mod

Hands: Wrath Gauntlets or Dwarven Gauntlets

Feet: Wrath Boots or Dwarven Boots

Head: One of the 3 Wrath Helmets or Dwarven Helmet

All of these items except for your weapon will be enchanted with any enchantment(s) you want.

    Combat [0A4]

What you should do is start off every battle with destruction magic if there is distance between you and the enemy. If you sneak into the room without being detected cast an Illusion spell so the monsters fight each other if there is more than 1. After that get up close with your warhammer and let loose on them. If you have to heal dual wield a Restoration spell if you have time or use a potion if you don't.

To be honest Skyrim doesn't have a challenging combat system. It's extremely easy even on the Master difficulty with below average gear. On my first character I ever played on I didn't even know about perk points until level 40 when I had pretty much finished all the main quest lines without upgraded gear on Expert difficulty. This is the reason I only have one thing I found difficult while playing this build. This thing is distanced attacks:

Enemies that are generally difficult to fight on this build are things that can attack with a distance. The warhammer swings pretty slow and you also move slightly slower with it so if you miss they can back up far enough away to get at least 1 attack in. The best thing you can do for this is Whirlwind Sprint up to your enemy with a paralyze poison on your weapon and kill it. (Whirlwind Sprint suggestion by Sean Reed).

Another good thing for this is magic. Unless the enemy is a boss you can kill it before you run out or almost kill it.

Another good strategy for this is use the Illusion spell Muffle and get really close to the enemy while sneaking then pound it with your warhammer.

The final strategy I can suggest is only for tight spaces. Cast an Illusion spell so the enemy flees from combat. Chase after it and since it will get stuck in a tight space let loose with your hammer.

    Special Move - Holy Motivation:

Call down the power of the heavens to smite your opponent. With the combined effect of yourself the enemy will be dead in no time. (Storm Call + Fortify 2 Handed Potion)

    Role Playing [0A5]

The Number 1 Rule: Treat every quest like a new quest... You now will forget the outcomes of every quest you have ever done. If the quest seems suspicious don't do it. If the quest seems innocent when you are asked to do it, sure help out. If it turns out not to be such a good idea quit it. If it is not optional I recommend you follow the step below this after you finish it. If you do not follow this rule it ruins the role playing of every decent build ever made.

    - If you commit a bad dead punish yourself in some way. Maybe if you do something major, like helping a Daedric Prince (with some of these quests you don't really have much of a choice of what to do once you start them if you are properly role playing) you could spend 10 game days in The Temple Of Divines (Solitude). It is dedicated to Stendarr. If you do something minor you could spend 1 or 2. Resting of course would be allowed.

    - Go out of your way to help people who are in need if they don't seem suspicious or if they are bad people

    - Kill every undead monster, necromancer, vampire, Daedra, etc. that you see.

    - Another good idea is if you stumble across something that summons the undead find a way to destroy it (not selling it). If it's a scroll summon the undead creature and then kill it.

    - Make a goal for yourself to enter as many possible places as you can and defeat all the undead inside.

I was thinking a bit about this. It actually could kind of work for multiple TES game role playing. You could play each game, pretending to be the same person, and following these rules. You could train your stats in the other games similarly, while killing off evil, too.  The story wouldn't match up all over the place and neither would the time period, but hey, that's what imagination is for! Comment about it if you like this idea!

This is my third build. I've been working on it and testing it side-by-side with my other 2 builds. I'm sorry if this is lacking content (personally I don't think it is, but if you do). I've tried to put as much into it as I could while still making my other builds.

It's a shame I play on 360 because that armor mod looks amazing! The build looks good except I'd probably drop enchanting. All crafting and no play makes a dull play through. Besides, you didn't really have a good reason for it. Same for illusion, although it is great CC! From a console standpoint, an alternative armor set could be the Ancient Falmer Armor Set and an Elven Helmet. It reflects the same colors and similar designs of your armor mod. Nice build though +1

Ancient Falmer would be good, but you'd have to switch to light armor. I really like the look of it.

As for illusion its kind of a role playing thing. Thanks for the advice, might use a bit of it, and thanks for the +1 :)

Can't wait till tomorrow when it gets busy on here...

I think you should also invest two points in Block to get the Quick Reflexes perk. It can really save your hide in a tight spot, ya know? And no problem, you did ask for suggestions ;)

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll see what I can take out... It was tough incorporating all the skills into the build.

Also, I'm trying to think of a good way to add your names into the credits now... Any idea?

Lol I'm also debating whether or not to add block to the minor skills. What about that :P?

My name? Oh I'm not worried about the credit. That's what this site is all about man, helping each other make the best builds possible.

I just like to add it, some people do care about it. Finished it now.

Not to be bitchy or anything lol ^^^, kind of turned out sounding like that.

One more point, if you don't mind me saying, would be to flesh out your combat section if you can. Did you approach every battle with a swinging hammer? What kind of enemies were difficult to fight and what tactic did you use to beat them? That particular section seems a little thin.

Not trying to be a critic but they always say your build gets one chance to make its impression. Might as well flesh it out now, huh? P.S. You should title the build with a colon instead of the hyphen you are so fond of haha! Like this: Character Build: The Holy Inquisitor. It's standard procedure ;)
