Character Build: The Stormchaser

Shouts section has been added.  Does that look alright?  I also added a picture with the equipment, to break up that text a bit.  In hindsight, a bluish glow would have been more appropriate than the green...  Maybe I'll fix that, and write the item names and enchantments in the image itself.  I'm at work right now, but it's really slow, so I might as well, haha.

With the exception of the resist magic enchantment, I think this is a good use of the enchanting skill. While you have pushed yourself into potentially op offence, I like how you haven't tried to offset weaknesses to make yourself totally un-killable which has created a rather nice balance.

Also, I love the backstory and inclusion of lore. This is another example in which I'd like to see more crossover into other areas of this site for further reading as I sense you may have had more to say about the Ansei but cut it for the sake of brevity.

If I could +1 this again, I would.

Very nice. Not often you see such an awesome redguard build.

I love this build, and I love the use of the Stormlight Archive pic!

Thanks Cocoa and everyone else. And good looking out on the Stormlight cover. As I noted in the build description, I had been re-reading The Way of Kings when I was working on this build, hence the lightning/storm-inspired mechanics. Just started re-reading Mistborn yesterday, and read Legion for the first time earlier this week. Sanderson is awesome, huh?

I've been meaning to give this build a proper update to reflect the style changes of all my other builds. I've been really busy with IRL stuff though, but I'm hoping to get a chance to make some revisions sometime this week.

Love this build. I am currently looking for a new Redguard playthough. Will have to keep this one in mind!

Yes i love Brandon! I was thinking of doing a Vin character build, and have already dabbled in an armored Dalinar/Adolin build but have yet to really feel them properly. I haven't read legion, do you recommend it?

I liked Legion. The end felt a bit abrupt, but I think he probably wants to do another book that follows the main character of Legion, so maybe that was intentional. It's a quick read, especially compared to his other works. It's also different in that it's set on modern Earth, and the tone and style are a bit different from most of his other stuff. Still, I enjoyed it a lot and I'd definitely recommend it, especially to anyone who likes his other material.

And I've totally done characters based on Vin, Dalinar, Kaladin, and Szeth. Never fleshed out enough to post here, but always good for a few hours of messing around at the very least. It'd be cool to really see one of those through to the endgame and develop it enough to support itself without the benefit of the literary foundation.

@Justice » Probably nothing significant in terms of gameplay or anything like that. Just a couple of tweaks here or there. More than anything, it's going to be an aesthetic overhaul. All of my other builds follow a very particular layout and format, but I haven't had a chance yet to give this one the same treatment. Been meaning to for several weeks now, but just too busy. With the recent surge of attention, I'll do my best to get that done ASAP.
