I sat around for a little bit wringing my brain for build ideas. I thought of inspirations. Remembering Skyler’s announcement of an Assassins Creed build, an idea popped into my head. I should make a Templar. Being a huge history buff, I thought I would base the majority of my build on the real life Knights Templar. This build was ultimately inspired by the Assassins Creed Templars but were based entirely on the real life guys.

"Some people say, that some time after the after the beginning of the 4th era, that an order of knights worshipping Julianos tried to liberate Tamriel. they started by wiping out all of the Daedra Worshippers in Cyrodil. They then destroyed all of the underground slave markets in Morrowind. They went on to do great deeds but they disappeared after some time. No-one is quite sure the nature of how it happened. Over the years though, no-one really remembered who they were, or if they even existed. On the other hand, some people think they never left."

    THE TEMPLAR

This Character Build was constructed with no bias against any religions or ethnical groups. The contents of this build were adapted to Skyrim but were largely based upon the real Knights Templar. Keep in mind some of this stuff was made up for the sake of the Build.

    Race: Imperial

    Standing Stone: Lord Stone

    God/Patron: Julianos

    Major Skills

Two-Handed or One-Handed: One of these skills will be your main damage output. Most Templars prefer swords over anything else, though others prefer fine art of bashing people’s heads in with maces.

Block (Only if you chose One-Handed): Block will enable you to absorb most damage taken with the correct perks. If you choose to go One-Handed, an essential shield to get is the Dawnguard Rune Shield.

Restoration: With a plethora of healing spells at your disposal and plenty of badass undead repellent spells combined with your main damage output, you can ultimately become an 'arcane tank'. I would strongly recommend hot-keying your restoration spells so you can switch between them quickly during combat.

    Minor Skills:

Speech: Besides being a complete necessity for buying items in skyrim; it is also a way to worship your god, Julianos. Julianos is the god of all things knowledge, including the art of language.

Enchanting: To fully unlock your Templar you will have to put specific enchants on your gear. These enchants will be listed later, but remember you will not get the maximum power without them.

Heavy Armor: Though your armor set will be a mix-match of gear, you will have a good amount of heavy armor, making it ideal to level this skill.

    The Equipment of a Templar

Head: Dawnguard Full Helmet (Any enchantment)

Torso: Any Mage Robes (They come with a pre-existing enchant)

Hands: Steel Plate Gauntlets (Fortify Two or One-Handed)

Feet: Steel Plate Boots  (Fortify Two or One-Handed (Again))

Amulet: Any Amulet (Resist Magic and Regenerate Stamina)

Ring: Any Ring (Regenerate Health and Magicka)

Weapon: Any Sword, Greatsword or Mace except for Daedric (Banish and Absorb Magicka)

     Level 28-48 Perk Spread

Notice I said 28-48 perk spread. It might be a little hard to explain, but the block and one-handed perks can both be replaced by the Two-Handed. So in other words block and one-handed are interchangeable with two-handed. (That wasn't so hard to explain) But it is 28-48, so it is really an approximation of how many perks you'll spend on each path.

    Gameplay/Roleplay:

    • The Knights Templar pledges his life to ridding Tamriel of all evil, much like the real Templars and their views on Non-Christians
    • Stealing is unacceptable
    • Murdering is unacceptable unless it is ‘justified murder’ against evil
    • Collect any books you come across and even read them in your spare time
    • The Templar prefers to rush head on into combat and rely on healing magic when low on health
    • Do not get married. Ever. As part of the Templar Code, you were not allowed to have any contact with any woman
    • Do not forget to utilize horse combat
    • Do not ever surrender in combat, but dying is considered a great honor

I played this as a Dead is Dead character, the only reason is because the original Knights Templar viewed dying in battle is a great honor, and I'll admit that I had a blast. I squealed like a schoolgirl at that one kill-cam where you jump up get an aerial stab on your enemy (right in the heart, mind you).

I played as an almost barbaric templar, I faced death right in the eye and spat at him. I ran into battle and demolished my enemies.

    Worship

You may have noticed that I have mentioned Julianos a couple times. If you haven’t; I pity you. Yes, my adaptation of a Templar does worship Julianos, but this is based solely on opinion. Julianos is the god of Knowledge, Literature, and all things knowledge, so I closely relate Julianos to the Knights Templar, no other real way I can explain it. Julianos is also commonly associated with magic, thus the Templars relation with magic. You may associate your Templar with a different god, though I don’t think it will have the same effect, it will most likely change many of the skills. So all I can say is that worshipping Julianos is just part of the Roleplay (DON'T HATE)
