    The Wiedźmin.

(Warning: Material from both Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLC is used, read at your own risk. And final note, this is my first build, so please any help would be appreciated.)

Wiedzmin, or better known in English speaking countries, Witchers, are a group of monster hunters for hire. They are taken as children to start their initiation as Witchers, which involves alchemical procedures, exposures to mutagens, and other trials to make them capable fighters against their enemies (Which are usually stronger, faster, and deadlier than man and mer).

Rory of Shor's Stone was on a job to kill a troll for the Jarl in Riften. While he was there he saw a conflict between Imperials and Stormcloaks. Once the Imperials noticed him they captured him, along with the Stormcloak unite, and Jarl Ulfric himself. He knew what would be coming next being considered an enemy of the Empire for being at the wrong place and the wrong time...the headsman's block.

(The best example of a Witcher, Geralt of Rivia)

    Role-Playing Guidelines:

First and foremost you are a monster hunter. You will go out of your way to fight monsters wherever they are. You also do some mercenary work, but you specialize with monsters and the undead. Witcher's don't normally fight dragons, but for a background you could make your Witcher a specially trained one that has the focus for fighting dragons as well. A Witcher is also looked down upon by most people, and for the fact of what they are, Vigilants of Stendarr are your enemies, because they think you conspire with Deadra to gain your otherworldly powers. For family life, don't adopt sons, a Witcher wouldn't adopt a son considering they would send it to be trained to be a Witcher, which in some cases is more of a death sentence than a good training. Rory himself isn't married but has a child at Lakeview manor. Necromancers are an enemy of yours because they create monsters and harm the citizenry. All Witchers are Male, with white hair and golden eyes, because of the chemicals and mutagens. You need to act indifferent with most of your interactions, because Witchers are seen to lack emotion. Any follower is allowed, but certain Guilds can not be joined, namely the Darkbrotherhood. The Thieves guild may be joined, but most Witchers aren't great thieves.

Rory prepaired himself against the dragon flying towards him, rolling out of the way and drawing his steel sword, knowing that silver would have little effect. He prepared his Quen Sign and charged towards the beast exclaiming, "Come now wyrm, and meet your end!"...

    The Build:

Race: Any Human race (for RP reasons, Witchers were always humans.)

Gender: The gender has to be male (But with some manipulation it could also be a female who knows the basics of being a witcher.)

Standing Stone: Warrior at first, then after a bit change over to Lord Stone to allow a better armor class, remember Witchers are supposed to be able to take a hit from nearly anything.

Suggested Quests: Companions (including becoming a werewolf, but you WILL NOT use the transformation, you need it for the resist disease.) Imperial or Stormcloaks (Witchers are for hire, so you can pick either or, and remember Geralt in the games was Knighted, so you could play that in as well.) Kill the Dark Brotherhood (Witchers and assassins don't mix, so why join them?) Dawnguard quest (Dawnguard side) and any dealing with slaying monsters or bandits.

Major Skills: One handed: For use with your silversword, Witchers used a one handed silver sword for fighting against most monsters (Any undead, werewolves, werebears.) Two Handed: Use your Steel or Nordic steel sword with this, a Witcher's second weapon was a two handed steel sword. Light armor: Witchers prefer to not be were the enemy's weapon or attack is, but they do need a bit of defense, so stick with light armor, however do not put in points to full set skills, for RP purposes you won't be wearing a helmet.

Minor Skills: Alchemy: Witchers are known for making potions and poisons for use, what I do for a little flare with my game is I make my potions have a damage effect to it, because Witchers drink potions that would kill a regular man. Stealth: What better way to kill a monster (or person unwilling to pay their dues) then to sneak up on it? Mostly will be used in case the creature is to powerful to handle in melee. Destruction, Alteration, Illusion, Restoration: These will act to replace your Signs and traps that a Witcher would use, I'll list spells below.

Optional Skills: Block: You won't be using a shield, but you can still use this with your swords. Enchant: Silver swords do have one problem, you can't increase their damage with smithing, so to make up for this you can add different enchantments (I suggest a fire one or soultrap). Smithing: To increase the power of your armor and weapons.

Perk Spread: Because of requests from the community here it is. This is how I played it, but you can play it however you want http://skyrimcalculator.com/#284013

Signs: Aard: to Simulate this sign, you need to use unrelenting force or the Whirlwind cloak spell from Dragonborn, the Sign is a blast of energy that knocks opponents away or stuns them, so paralysis works as well. Igni: A gout or blast of fire, so any fire spell could be used (besides Fire Rune, and Flame Cloak), along with the Fire Breath Shout. Yrden: A magical trap on the ground that freezes the opponent to that spot, I like to use Ash rune for this, but if you don't have Dragonborn, Frost Rune works just as well. Quen: A protective shield spell, that later on reflects damage to the enemy, this one was harder to do, but what I normally op to go with is using an armor spell with a cloak spell, light lightning or fire, but feel free to use what you want to replicate that effect. Axii: A charm you place on your enemy to make them fight for you, leave you be, or flee, it is quite obvious this is were the Illusion tree comes in.

Now in the Witcher universe of novels, games, and cinema, there is another Sign, Heliotrop, which causes an area of defense around the Witcher using it, and slows down things within that zone, the only thing I could truly use for this was Slow time shout, followed with an Astral Form shout or vise versa.

Traps and Bombs: Most if not all Witchers use traps and explosives to get a job done, thanks to the Spider Spells added in Dragonborn, and explosive crossbow bolts in Dawnguard (This would add archery to your skills if you want to go this route and make it work better, and it would only be used for explosive bolts) it can work. For traps you would use rune spells not already used for signs, and also any trap already in the area. Oil spiders work for good "traps" as well.

Gear: For a Witcher you would use leather armor, I use thieves guild armor for looks, because it matches nicely and has a hood that you can use, or Dawnguard without the helmet and shield. If you want to use any other type of light armor that is fine, as long as it is simplistic, but you will have to wear a hood with it as well. You also need an amulet that shows what Witcher School you are from, and the only good choice in my opinion is the Bonehawk necklace because it is an animal head, but you can justify almost any amulet you pick. As for weapons, you have to either have a silver sword, and a steel greatsword, or to "Upgrade" go with Dawnbreaker and Nordic Steel or Skyforge steel greatswords. Any other weapons are fine to use because Witchers did train with almost any weapon. The only downside to trying to play a Witcher is that in the regular version of Skyrim even with all the DLC you can't get throwing knives, which is the only real "range" option Witchers have, but you can substitute it with a knife and telekinesis spell.

However, you've done this a hell of a lot better than the other version.

This is a nice in depth build, and I like how you've adapted the symbols in spells in skyrim. Might I suggest adding and RP guide/suggestions. This build would work best being RP-ed as a monster hunter and could really benefit the build including one.

I'll get to work on that as soon as I can lol. I was lucky to have the time to post it. I did forget about the other build, but I felt it was kind of lacking a bit. But thank you Josh for your input.

This witcher build is awesome! You have made a way better version than the other witcher build. I thought the witcher uses a silver greatsword and a steel sword though?

No in all the lore for it and the books it was a steel greatsword and a silver longsword. It could be either or, and any other type of weapon really, but those are the trademarks of a Witcher's weapons. Also, and don't quote me on this, but because of the Witcher 2 game it seems different schools have different styles of combat.

All images have been restored for this build. While I try my best to keep the formatting as close to the original as possible, there are some unavoidable differences as a result of differing platforms... for this I apologize.

Also, please feel free to remove the 'Restored' banner at the end of the build--I put it there as a courtesy to let the reader know that the build has been worked on by somebody other than its original creator without his or her knowlege.

I have heard about the witcher series but have never played the games myself. This build sounds super cool and makes me want to play both the Skyrim version and the original :]
