I should start out by saying that this build probably isn’t for everyone but I spent a good deal of time trying to figure out the right items to make this build work. To pull it off properly it does require the restoration loop glitch or a console command if you are playing from the PC (But not so much that it is a game breaker). But without further ado, I present:

    Batman

As a young boy in Skyrim Bruce Wayne witnessed his parents murdered in cold blood by a bandit chief. Without a family, he was raised by his housecarl in his family’s manor in Solitude. Having witnessed the murder of his parents, he swore revenge on criminals, an oath tempered with the greater ideal of justice. As he came to age he decided it was best for him to travel Tamriel to learn about other cultures, traditions, and combat styles. After learning everything he wanted to learn, he decided to return home to Skyrim, however that trip did not go as planned. As he was crossing into Skyrim he was attacked and taken prisoner by a group of Stormcloaks (because he’s an Imperial) and then eventually captured by the Imperial Army…

This  build is based around Alchemy, Enchanting, Sneak, and Unarmed combat. I know what you are thinking, Unarmed combat isn’t a viable combat option, however by using the restoration loop (within reason), a console command, or a PC mod unarmed combat becomes very viable and extremely fun. Depending on how you decide to train, the beginning of this build can be a little tedious as it is important to “train” your alchemy, enchanting, smithing, and sneak skills before you can really be the hero Skyrim needs. (However, you could take a short cut, i.e. the Oghma Infinium or another console command)

    Race: Imperial
Stone: Lover to begin with then either the Lady Stone or the Shadow Stone
Stats: 0/1/1 in Magicka/Health/Stamina (unless you want to use illusion then put some into Magica)
    Armor: Nightingale Armor (Full Set)
Dragon Shout: Disarm / Slow Time
Quests lines: Thieves Guild, Destroy the Dark Brotherhood, Companions

    The Build

Firstly, it is important to note that anyone who plays this build will have to “assume” a few things. First, by going unarmed you are not “killing” anyone, only knocking them out until a time where a hold guard can come detain them. Second, that the thieves guild is highly misunderstood and its members are generally good people.

When I did my play through I acted as though the thieves guild was Wayne Corporation, a highly respected defense contractor who provided weapons and rare items to legion, which was run into the ground after its acting leader (Gallus Desidenius) was murdered. In Bruce’s absence the company has gained a terrible reputation and has been linked to thieves guilds in other areas of Tamriel. I went through the quest and was as passive as possible in order to restore to the company and to put an end to its poor management. Along the way, Bruce discovers the “Applied Sciences” division, where he is given his “Bat Suit” and some other Bat Gadgets (Bow & Nocturnal’s Blessings).  Once Bruce gets Delvin Mallory out of the way, he lets Brynjolf (one of my favorite NPCs in the game) run the organization while he becomes a masked vigilante assisting the people of Skyrim.

    Major Skills:
    Sneak:
The basis of Batman’s skill set revolves around moving around unseen, popping up, subduing an enemy, and then disappearing back into the shadows.
Enchanting: This is essential to make the all important Bat Ring. Without enchanting, unarmed isn’t really possible at higher levels.
Alchemy: Again this is essential to the process to make the ring. Batman is also a scientist so he will use this skill to create potions and poisons to assist him subdue bad guys.
Light Armor: The Bat Suit is light armor so it is important to be proficient in its use.

    Minor Skills:
    Smithing:
We won’t be investing a lot of points in here but it is important in order to improve upon the Bat Suit.
Speech: Again we aren’t going to focus on this, but Batman is able to intimidate most enemies, not to mention it will allow for him to make some more money selling items for his company.

    Bat Gadgets:

The Bat Ring: Batman knows a lot about combat, chemistry, and technology. With that knowledge he created a ring that helps him subdue his enemies long enough for the guard’s to apprehend the criminal. For this  build to work properly it is pretty essential to create this ring. I want to stress that the restoration loop (Google it if you don’t know that I am taking about) should be used with caution, it is meant to make unarmed combat viable at higher levels, not break the game. I don’t remember what my added damage was but I went a little lower than a daggers damage (if you were to perk and improve it out). I figured that was a fair level and it accounts for the extreme amounts of training Batman endures. [Enchanted Gold Emerald Ring with Fortify Unarmed Damage]

The Batarang / Bat-Darts: Easily the most important piece of Batman’s arsenal. These specialized items can be used to distract, knock out, or paralyze an enemy for the specialized needs of Batman. [Bow & Arrow of choice / paralyzing poison]

Cloaking Device: When you become over run by a large group of enemies, enable your cloaking device and move your way to a better fighting position, while taking the time to naturally heal. [Shadowcloak of Nocturnal]

Master Bat-Key: A lock pick that is kept in the fingertip of the gloves, can be used to enter through a back door or opening a chest looking for supplies [Unbreakable Perk & Lock Pick]

Disruptor: The ultimate tool for a man who isn’t exactly impervious to arrows, swords, axes, or hammers. When used, this disruptor can disarm an enemy from a considerable distance. This means that Batman can hide in the shadows and make an enemy unarmed for an easy take down. [Disarm Dragon Shout]

    Combat:

When approaching a bandit camp, always attempt to enter through hidden access, if that is not possible, lure the enemies away with your bow and then enter undetected. Once in access the situation, size of the force, location, gear, etc. Choose your best plan of action, then attack. Use a bob and weave fighting technique,  sneak in take out the first enemy, then activate the Shadowcloak of Nocturnal, disappear, reappear somewhere else, attack an enemy, disappear again. If it runs out use a potion or just engage the enemies left and knock them out. [Shadowcloak of Nocturnal + Slow Time Dragon Shout]

    Role Playing:

Your main objective here is to fight crime, take down bandits, assist the people of Skyrim, and eventually (if you want) save them from the end times. Always help someone when you can, especially guards and Jarls. Make sure you only change outfits (from Batman to Bruce) in your manor or another area where you cannot be seen. All business transactions (selling and buying items) should be conducted as Bruce. I also used this play through to do the destroy the dark brotherhood quest. I pretended that they were the League of Assassins and that I only busted Grelod the Kind for child abuse.

I know this play though will take some imagination. But it is very enjoyable for someone looking to do something a little different.

This is my first build so any feedback would be appreciated. If people like it I am considering doing other Batman related builds that could fit into Skyrim.

All images have been restored for this build. While I try my best to keep the formatting as close to the original as possible, there are some unavoidable differences as a result of differing platforms... for this I apologize.

Also, please feel free to remove the 'Restored' banner at the end of the build--I put it there as a courtesy to let the reader know that the build has been worked on by somebody other than its original creator without his or her knowlege.
