    DLC SPOILER ALERT!!!

The warriors of the Skaal, though few in number, cling, mercilessly, to their ancient beliefs.  They revere nature, it’s beastly inhabitants, as well as the goddess Kyne that bestowed the breath to them that gives life and gives the Dragonborn the ability to use his Thu’um.

Before returning to his homeland of Skyrim, the Skaal was a warrior that called upon totems of each of the sacred animals inlaid in his armor to fortify his abilities and defeat his foes.  Upon returning to Skyrim, the realization that he was Dragonborn, transformed him into something more.  He became, like Ysmir himself, Shezarrine.

The Shezarrines are a group of famed heroes and avatars throughout history who are suspected to bear some connection with each other and Lorkhan. They are named after Shezarr, a Cyrodilic version of Lorkhan introduced as a "watered down" version of Shor during the creation of the Eight Divines.   The details and purposes of the Shezarrines are as clouded in mystery, confusion, and debate as Lorkhan himself, and hypotheses abound on who or what they represent.

The primary theory (or at least, the one most easily understood) is that each of these immortal champions is an incarnation of Lorkhan, who was separated from his heart and set adrift to wander Mundus, the creation of the Aedra which he helped bring about.  The Khajiit believe the Aedra (or possibly the Daedra) cursed Lorkhan for his trickery by tearing out his heart and condemning him to "walk Nirni for many phases".  The Redguards believe that Sep, their equivalent of Lorkhan, was created to make the world possible, but his hunger made him a threat to the spirits he was created to protect, so his hunger (the Heart of Lorkhan) was removed, and he was left to "slink around in a dead skin".

    The Skaal Shezarrine

    Race: Nord

Stone:  There are several viable options.

    1. Warrior or Lover for leveling
    2. Lady for the regen bonuses since we don’t use restoration.
    3. Lord for damage resistance

Primary Skills:  One handed, Block, Enchanting, Smithing

Secondary Skills: Archery, Heavy Armor, Light Armor, Alchemy

Shouts: Dismay, Unrelenting Force, Animal Allegiance, Kyne’s Peace, Call of Valor

This build is about bringing an unrelenting force and about unleashing the true fury of Skyrim upon her enemies.  Few enemies can stand the onslaught that is a Nord in the heat of battle.  Your enemies will cower as you scream their deaths into the night before delivering them unto mercy.

    Offense

Your offense is led by the sharpened blade of an axe as you lead the battle with Critical Charge.  Utilizing the Fighting Stance and Savage Strike you can power attack more often and with increased chance of an easy victory.  For enemies resilient enough to withstand your Savage Strike, they will quickly find the life flowing from their veins as your war axe mercilessly bleeds them dry.

Also use of archery and either a strong war bow (any quality) or an Enhanced Dwarven crossbow, either enchanted with soul trap or fiery soul trap.  This weapon is only used on Dragons.

    Defense

When it comes to defense, the Skaal has several aides.  First, comes from his armor.  A mix of heavy gauntlets, boots and helm along with a fur armor that exposes the raw power of this hulking brute.  He also blocks incoming attacks with the flat of his axe before reciprocating with an attack of his own. Additionally, he can shout fear into the very soul of his enemies sending them fleeing.  When all else fails, he can call upon the forces of the savage nature of Skyrim or to the very halls of Sovngarde, where a might champion is summoned to him.

    Appearance

I was first inspired by the concept of a barbarian, his torso exposed but his ferocity hidden behind the cold steel of helm and glove.  For the look of the Skaal, I highly suggest the mix of the topless fur armor mixed with the gloves, boots and helm of the Ancient Nord Armor set.

As for weapons, no weapon fits better in the hands of a true son of Skyrim than the Nord Hero War Axe.  Leave the Daedric gear to weak willed servants of the Daedra.  Iron and steel served your forefathers and they will serve you as well.

    Totems

The Skraal revere nature and her mother, Kyne.  As such, through the use of the enchanting skill they can channel nature’s fury into their arms and armor.

Weapon: Wolf’s Teeth- Nord Hero War Axe with Absorb Health
Gloves:  Bear’s Claws- Ancient Nord Gauntlets with Fortify One handed
Boots:  Fox’s Vigor-  Ancient Nord Boots with Fortify Stamina
Helmet:  Hawk’s Eyes-  Ancient Nord Helmet with Fortify Archery
Ring:  Whale’s Heart-  Ring of Health
Amulet:  Dragon’s Soul- Amulet of Health

    Level 55 Perk Spread

One Handed:  Armsman 5, Hack and Slash 3, Fighting Stance, Savage Strike, Critical Charge
Block:  Shield Wall 5, Quick Reflexes, Power Bash, Deadly Bash, Disarming Bash
Enhanting: Enchanter 5, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter
Smithing:  Steel, Dwarven, Orcish, Ebony, Daedric (Req for tempering Ancient Nord Armor), Arcane Blacksmith
Archery:  Overdraw 3, Eagle Eye, Steady Hand 1, Power Shot
    Heavy Armor:  Juggernaut 5
    Light Armor:  Agile Defender 5
    Alchemy:  Alchemist 4, Physician

Alternately, you could forego Daedric Smithing for Advanced Smithing the grab a Shield, Ysgrammor's Shield is suggested for RP, then grab Deflect Arrows and Elemental Protection from the block tree.  This increases your resistance via blocking and allows you to mix Scaled Armor with a mix of Nordic Steel or Steel Plate gloves, boots and helm.

    Quests

Companions (but cure the Werewolfism as soon as possible)
Dark Brotherhood if you are determined to kill the Emperor.
    The Blessings of Nature
    Stormcloak Rebellion
And never hesitate to delve into Nordic ruins in order to release the souls of your deceased brethren.

    DLC UPDATE!!!

With the release of (and my ascertaining of) Dawnguard and Dragonborn, several better possibilities arose.

Powers:  Earth Stone- 80% Dragonflesh spell in ability form!  For damage mitigation.

Beast Stone- Summon a werebear follower.

                  Wind Stone- Frost damage ability.

(All stone spells must be acquired after each use.)

Mora's Boon- Fully restore Health, Magicka and Stamina

Secret of Strength- No stamina cost for 30 seconds!  Incredibly useful for rage moments.

Bardic Knowledge- Spectral drum that increases Stamina Regen.  Very nice and very

                  shamanistic for the theme.

Seeker of Might- Combat skills are 10% more effective.  Nuff' said.

Dragonborn Force- Unrelenting Force may disintegrate enemies.  Talk about shouting their

                  pants off!

Equipment: I suggest using the Dwarven Crossbow instead of bows.  More damage and much simpler for the less archery focused Shezzarine.  Also, Hoarfrost makes an excellent axe for this build!

And armor can be changed to Nordic Carved Armor giving you better defense than the Ancient Nord Armor.

That’s the gist!  I hope you guys enjoy it, but if you have any suggestions feel free to throw me a line!
